This all happened last month:
I was shredding with a friend of mine, we were riding through some trees and then we came out at a cat track with a little drop down to it. I slid the side, my friend wound up catching an edge, fell about 12 feet to bellyflop on the cat track. He was in a lot of pain but we thought he was fine.... 7 hours later, after 3 hospital beds, 2 ambulance rides, 12 bags of blood and him being called in as dead during the ambulance ride, I finally work my way through the right people in the hospital and find out that he's out of the OR and in the ICU unconscious, after having not seen him for a few hours. He was about 10 minutes from complete, inevitable death. He had so little blood in his body for a while that the anesthesiologist didn't think they'd be able to put him under. Worst fucking day of my life, for a while I thought the next time I was going to see him was in the morgue.
Freak accident gone sooooo wrong. Shits terrible, vibes for everyone dealing with injuries.
