Stuntmen

So somebody explain this to me. Are stuntmen really good as taking pain, or are they really good at avoiding it? Serious inquiries only please.

Avoiding it. Can take it if needed. By buddy is pretty sick at parkour so he can do some stuff s

Without getting hurt. Also pretty well veresed in motor/action sports.

I don't really know any other stuntmen butbI assume it's the same. If you're landing terribly all the time and just sucking up the pain, there's only so long you can do that.

Much respect to that profession though.

definitely both. they do shoots where they, for instance, just have to fall down a set of stairs and they can shoot and re-shoot over and over just like any other movie shot. those guys and girls are fuckin crazy

But I feel like there are certain things that are just unavoidable. Like if he were to take a hit hard enough to break a bone, there’s no way that he could avoid that. Breaking something is a super common injury so how can they continue to avoid that when having to be hit hard as fuck all the time? Anybody can take a bruise and continue to send it but not a broken bone.

Avoiding it, apart from that chick from the Resident Evil movies who lost her arm.

Not even her fault, stunts are suppose to be set up so that there is almost 0% chance of the stunt double getting hurt. Instead they put a steel arm right in front of where shes going with the promise that it will lift up in time. The producers cut corners to get it done and whats worse is that the producers were suppose to pay for her medical expenses while she was in the hospital but then backed out on that. Furthermore, they misled her about the insurance coverage and it ended up only paying her 33k for that accident..
