Has it happened to you, and what do you do to minimize your chances of having your skis getting jacked?

hasnt happened to me but one of my friends snowboard got jacked and all you have to do is buy a lock or you can split up your skis or use the search bar

I got my poles stolen when i went to go buy a drink, so in a time lapse of like 2 mins.,. yeah i guess i didnt place them well... but.. hmm, usaully i split them up and put the skis apart somewhere. it works fairly well.

make sure you have your serial numbers of your skis written down somewhere, so you can complete a police report if some jerk decides to ruin his/her own cosmic karma ad steal ski gear. It is a shame that we as a winter recreation community cannot trust one another to leave our gear alone. I am not sure but renters/homeowners insurance may cover some thefts, I would have to check my renters insurance policy to verify that.

True man, its worth just getting a lock for $15 to make sure your skis (which are usually >$400 with bindings) are safe.

sad, but happens everywhere, I have lost a pair and found out after buying a pair that they were hot. A lock is so worth the money, so is seperating your skis. Take one ski right up to where you are going or eating, and leave the other at the main rack. I lean one on glass if possible, makes people think you may be watching it.... But I grew up in Colorado, where skis go like bubble gum.

I also just try and trust that anyone who steals skis knows that KArma will hurt you. Skiing somone elses skis is a great way to get whats coming to you.
