Studying Abroad at Bond U.

Was recently accepted to Bond University to study abroad for the September-December semester (I guess it's Spring for you guys, but Fall for me). I'd appreciate any info on nearby ski areas, normal conditions during this time, any info about the university itself and other cool stuff to do while I'll be in Australia. Thanks in advance guys, I'm stoked to visit your country!

Do you surf? You're gonna want to surf. There is not skiing withing 1000 miles of Bond, and if there was it'd be pretty much gone by September.. Sorry dude! There are, however, almost infinite amazing beaches not too far at all from bond. The weather Sept-Dec should be banging and there will be plenty of good times. As far as the uni goes, it's probably the closest we've got to an american style college, so you shouldn't feel too out of it. Everyone I've met from there has been legit and super nice. Not sure how many NS'ers there are in the GC area but if you're making it down south there are plenty who'll be up for a party and maybe (hopefully) a shred.

Hey man. I appreciate the info. I don't surf yet (from a landlocked state), but I'm sure that'll change when I'm down under. Psyched the the weather will be awesome September-December. As far as skiing goes, I was thinking I'd try to do a weekend trip to the South Island of NZ, if I can swing it money-wise. All still remains to be seen. Couldn't be more excited right now...

If you get in contact with their uni ski club you can race at nationals which is 2nd to 6th september at Mt Buller. Its nowhere near Bond University but there will be a bunch of them coming down here for the weeklong event which is so much fun I can barely describe it.
