Stuck betwwen two skis.

im 5'11" and 140. I have narrowed my chioce down to the 179 pontoons and the 185 ep pros.

I know both are great skis. If i had my chioce i would get the ep pros but is that to long for me. I ski east coast but its not like it is going to be my only ski(have lizzies). Ive never skied rockers and heard they ski short but how short?

also ep pros graphics are sick

 
ALSO NOTE: The Pontoons are just about as long as the EP Pros. K2 measures their skis quite long

For example, at the shop i work for, we have 179 pontoons, 179 obsetheds, and 183 salomon czars.

The Obsetheds are the same length as the Czar. The Pontoons are a CM longer than the Obsetheds

So, based on the fact that the pontoons are basically 180-something, and the hellbents are really 180-something... i'm sure you'd be fine with 185 EP Pros, for sure, dude.
 
Definatly go up when going with rockered skis, they ski very short. at your size I would even look at the 189 toons. Both skis are good, they are just different. the EP's are alot more playful then the Pontoons, which are a little stiffer and more directional.
 
i wouldnt want pontoons as an ec ski. 185 is not even close to to big for you, especially since they are rockered. if anything they might feel small. Plus k2 measures weird so the 179 toons are more like 183ish
 
yo thanks for the input. Think im going with the ep. Only 17 so if anything all just grow into them. They look so sick. Hope this years a good one out on the EC!
 
Gonna have to change your icon now haha. You'll probably have a blast on the EP's, especially if you like to butter.

Does the ec ever have good years? Just playin
 
last season was the most snow since the sometime in the 1700s...i forget when. or maybe it was 1800s. still tho...gnar. and my local hills lift broke four times, so we ended up slaying kickers in my friends yard for a lot of it which was kinda weak.
 
to know how to size rockered skis check out mcconkey's article in powder's sept. issue. it's helpful and explains why and how you should size rockered skis from the guy that pioneered the idea.
