Strive 16 vs Pivot 18

Dang idk how I missed that the STH was replaced. Shame they got rid of the toe instead of just lowering the heel piece.

I'd recommend the pivot until these are more proven. I'm sure they're fine but the sth2 is a big shoe to fill. Give the strive a couple seasons.

Seems stack height between the new strive and pivot are within a mm or two, nobody would notice tbh.

Edit: spelled heel like a dingus

sth is still around they are just selling it as the 16 din

the strive looks in person very weird, like chunky toe piece and minimal metal

Have not skied it yet

Skis well, just not as damp as an STH. I get it though, Amer brands had the warden and STH so they are just trying to streamline the product range with one option (STH 16 will go away soon enough). It was always an explanation I never loved having in the shop with newer skiers asking me why they should buy one over the other when they were both good.

Is the sth16 truly going away soonish? If so I have affairs to prepare

Yeah. Even this year it wasn’t in all the amer brands catalogues, think maybe just armada made it.

OP either way will be good probably. the strive is new so sometimes it's wise to let other people take the beach and see if there are issues with the new product but i bet it's a good binding and so far ive only heard good things. both they and pivots pride themselves on low stack height and good elastic travel. i'm sure the strive is lighter by a good margin

also i hadn't seen this armada colorway, she's pretty

They still have them available this season.

salomon with its own marketing material that they send to shops claims that the strive does not have as much elasticity as the sth or pivot

its like 2mm lower stack height in toe but that's the only real benefit
