Strength Training for Skiing

Summers here schools out perfect time to do something to improve your athletic performance before the snow starts flying again. I have been skiing for 23 years and have built my career around athletics. I am currently a personal trainer specifically for athletes and coached at the Div II level for Strength and Conditioning.

Over the past few years, I have researched different athletes and designed a workout program that is specifically for skiing. I noticed a huge difference in my own performance and would like to see what others achieve from it. I am putting together a website where these programs can be purchased for $15.00 for each 6 week program and also put up different workouts and training videos.

I'm looking for 2 males and 2 females that would like to try out my programs for free in trade for writing a short review and feedback. Any feedback on this topic would be great and appreciated. Feel free to add your input if you think its to expensive, Strength training isn't important in skiing, there's already too many people trying this in our sport.

I'm not looking to get rich off this just a way I can contribute back to the sport and share the knowledge I have learned with my past experience. If you are interested in being one of the 2 males or 2 females please send me a message about your current workout schedule and what your goals are.

Thanks, Kevin

I just wanted to start strenght training for skiing and had thoughts that it would get quite hard to find the right training. This is perfect! Just asking , are these programms based on parkskiing , racing or freeriding?

I designed them to be more for park skiing but have taken elements from other plans built for racing. Typically racers focus on developing mainly their legs and secondly their core. The program I designed focuses on building the core and legs but also incorporates Olympic lifts to hit the entire body. It's important to keep everything proportioned for injury prevention so upper body and flexibility exercises are also a huge part.

If you want a copy just message me an email address and the first 2 males and 2 females that post in the thread and send me an email get a free program.

Thanks

I'll bite.

Why did you decide to include Olympic Lifts (C&J and Snatch)? Are there not other ways to build total body strength that don't require the same amount of time be devoted to learning a difficult and specific set of skills that has little practical application to skiing?

I'm not critizing, just want to hear your rational as to why you thought they would be the best exercise?
