Okay, so for the good stuff.
Unfortunately I agree with the rest; the song isn't doing it for me. It didn't make me vomit...but I wasn't tapping my foot either. It's crucial to remember that your song needs to complement your video to enhance the viewing experience for the viewer. If it's not doing that, then by default you're doing something wrong, you know? That doesn't necessarily mean that your song choice was a bad choice - it just means that the edit and the song don't mesh as they should; at least that's what it means to me.
Most of your shots were framed relatively well; not too much dead space, not awkwardly close (although for some you were just really, really far away, and those shouldn't have been in there at all). It got repetitive, though, seeing the same framing over and over again; I would have loved to see a few tripod, zoomed-in shots on the jumps just to switch it up.
You did a decent job alternating the slow pace of the shots with sped up sections and multi-angle cuts. I liked that. (I should note: while the song itself didn't really fit the edit IMO, the slow pace of the song and the editing went together not too badly. It wasn't awesome...but it definitely didn't suck. I feel like you did this on purpose. Good man).
I didn't like the name titles, but I'm pretty picky on titles. I like titles to be in simple font and simple styles; its "artsier" and "more hip" like that, so its pretty much the bandwagon, but its the bandwagon because visually they work. On the other hand, I did like the "Street Die" intermission title, with the scrambled shit in the background. That seemed to work. The first needed to be longer though, to achieve its impact.
I was digging the change of pace in Mitchell's segment.
I don't think the second Street Die title was necessary. It isolates Mitchell too much. IMO you should just have the first one longer and get rid of the second one. You can still do some sort of funky transition (get creative!) but the title wasn't doing it for me here.
The only thing I hated about the last song was the screaming. Screaming into microphones like that makes me recoil. I actually blinked, and had to rewind the video...
Other than that, the song wasn't too terrible, though I wouldn't listen to it by my own free will. I missed the slow mo; I think if you could splice some slow mo shots in there with the fast ones, this segment would be even more "hood," assuming that's what you're going for. Slow shots emphasizing the style, the tweak, the "hoodness," etc, would really drive it home.
I think if you put in more effort filming (less lapping, more filming), your edits would be unbelievable. You have a good camera, a fantastic location, and your crew slays. If you could convince them to let you film for real - ie zoom, tripod, etc, NOT FOLLOWS - for like two days you'd stack more banger footy than you ever imagined. I can't wait to see when that happens.
