This too. I get how someone could completely lose their temper and hit a girl, or get into a blind rage and take things way too far. I mean I'm not excusing someone who catches their spouse in bed with someone else and ends up shooting someone, but logically I can see how it could happen. This, though, is far beyond that. You're not acting out of sheer fury when you have sex with your murdered girlfriend's body, cut her head off, and burn the house down. I can't even begin to comprehend what this guy was thinking, other than the fact that he's obviously a very sick individual.
 
dog if he survives that shit he wont even be able to walk when he gets out. "able to do whatever he pleases" lol. and why you making such a big deal out of this? its not like they only gave him 5 years or somthing, 60 years is fuckin huge
 
it depends if he gets good behavior or not and survives a life in prison. I understand its a heavy sentence I just don't get why the court wouldnt call it life and be done with it? Doesn't make sense to me.

anyways all the arguments that he wont survive are probably very valid and the fact that even if he does he'll probably be dead within 5 years and have no shot at a job etc. is very true as well, it's just seems like he should get life to me for doing something so wrong. I dunno.
 
You have to consider that it isn't entirely his fault... It may be a pretty extreme crime, but in the same way you can't really (entirely) blame people born in poor, lower-class, crime-filled areas for stealing/selling drugs etc etc.
 
such a shame. our justice system is ludicrous. all of the taxpayers money to basically babysit him for 60 years....especially with the minuscule chance he actually gets better.
a life for a life. execution is the answer.
 
people don't seem to realize that if he survives and gets out, it's not like he just resumes his 29 year old life.

When he gets out, he'll likely be close to death, and won't be capable of doing anything. Pretty much everyone he knows will be gone.

The Petit case was the worst. Look it up, but this is fucking awful. He must have been messed up, i don't think any one can do that without being under the influence of something.

this kinda makes me think of this movie i saw last week about some asian guy who killed a girl and then ate her, and what he didnt finish he kept in her freezer. and nothing happened to him. literally, nothing. and it goes into details of his childhood and his life and like all his weird fetishes and kwshgliwurh its really fucked up.

He wont. Odds are probably 99 to 1 that he dies there either because other jailmates will catch wind of the fucked up shit he did and kill him, or he will catch some sort of disease and die.
 
no, he's 29. The thing you have to remember is that often times people don't end up serving their full sentence. If he goes into prison and is well behaved they'll likely cut some time off of his sentence for good behavior.
 
there's a bunch of countries that have really plush prison systems compared to here. some believe it works a ton better... i don't doubt it.
