Straight and Narrow skis

Been making skis for the past few years trying different things to make the best ski for everyday skiing. This year I made this pair of skis called the Straight and Narrows.

They have performed amazingly well in the park, in the bumps, on the groomers, and the one chance I had to take them in to the trees before all the snow melted away. They are buttery but stiff enough so they wont wash out, and because the tips and tails are so narrow the swing weight is very low.

If anyone would like a pair pm me for details, or check out the facebook page.

The specs

Length - 180

Dimensions - 96-80-92

Ash and maple core with ash sidewalls. Cedar veneer topsheet. Carbon fiber stringer, symmetric flex, and center mount. Medium height tip and tail rocker with camber.

Rad, those look very similar to a ski I've been building too, little sidecut through the waist, straight through the tip/tails. How do you like them? I really like the shape for everything but hardpack, and really like them for jibs and rails, jumps, i find them a bit loose.

Those are pretty awesome. Vermont this year has been pretty much hardpack all season and these skis handle it just fine. I'm a big fan of the slim shape there is less chatter and they move quick edge to edge which does help on the hardpack.

i would like to start making skis but i need a good way to press them together. do you use vacuum bags or do you u have a press? also do you have a heat blanket because some epoxies only cure at 180 degrees? sorry for thread jacking. the skis look sick man. if you dont mind could you pm me? i got some more questions.

this is a good place for asking questions like thosehttps://www.newschoolers.com/forum/...Pressing-Shaping-Building-Constructing-Thread

but most of your questions can be answered on skibuilders.com where they have a how to and a forum with lots of recommended reading.

Thanks! I love um. Sick lookin skis! I love the shape, but mine definitely favor softer snow vs the ice, but man they are sweet in bumps and transitions, they just dont catch edges.

damn those are cool. been wanting to press a set for a while now but haven't had the time. what is the turning radius like on em?
