heya. i plan on coming down with some friends feb 11-13, so i'll need a place to stay. and etc. just wondering if anyone has some tips, suggestions, on which places are best, cheapest, and close proximity. i'm used to tremblant, so i know most places have a shuttle if not in walking distance. so i'm just wondering how it all works. we're gonna be about 7 people so yep. thanks!

theres some condos like 5 minutes from the base called mountainside condos. theres some good places to eat within walking distance and a shuttle from the road which you should look up time. matterhorn bar is on the way up and is a good place to drank after the mountain.

There are a ton of places to stay. With 7 people you might be better off trying to rent a condo for the weekend than staying at any kind of hotel or inn and getting multiple rooms. Try this site below and look in vacation rentals, there are actually usually some that are pretty reasonable. If you want to go the hotel or inn option there are a few that are fairly inexpensive for a resort town, Town & Country is one and the Sun & Ski is another that are reasonably priced (not the greatest amenities, but I know at the Town & Country they at least have an indoor pool?
http://www.stowerealtyrentals.com/ is where you'll find potential condo rentals. Craigslist sometimes, but rarely has vacation rentals.

Anywhere on Mountain Rd or nearby is going to have convenient access to a shuttle that runs every 20 minutes, so you should have no trouble getting around town or getting to and from the mountain.

Also, go to the Matterhorn if you want to hang out with 80% people over the age of 35. Piecasso apres ski, and The Rusty Nail and Rimrocks usually get the younger night life crowds.

great places to eat:

the shed

gracies

piecasso

pie in the sky

the rusty nail is halfway decent

matterhorn as an apres ski

i might be there this weekend!

word. stowe is so sick. i was up there last weekend and they has absurd amounts of snow. make sure you get up there early and ski liftline first run before it gets skied off.
