Ok so I just started skiing Stowe this year so I am still pretty unfamiliar with the mountain. I have heard that it has some pretty good backcountry so I'm looking for guidance. Just any advice in general about the bc. I searched and found out a little info but not a whole lot so anything you guys have to help me out would be great. +K for solid information

been there twice dont know too much but i know people hike the top of mansfield and you ski that just pick your line i guess... i also know that theres a trail on the backside from the top of mansfield called the bruce trail that goes all the way down to the matterhorn grill

we also found alotta inbound stashes which people told us the name of:

the riverbed trail is a shoot a little of the way down on chinclip, its a narrow chute/glade with lots of cliffs and hucks. you have to be looking pretty closely but look for tracks on the right side of chinclip a little way down

angel food is similar but on the right side of chinclip, youll see a sign that says out of bounds and a path with lots of tracks. traverse that path and youll see the route people take to get down.

i dont know the name of this trail but right on the top of perry merril youll see trakcs into the woods on a trail that starts off a glade but then empties into a pretty steep chute with a few small mandatory airs... i think the names james bond but i could be wrong

theres woods everywhere so just look and oonce again ive only been there twice so i dont really know much

there are woods outt he back of the quad that goes to the top of spruce. it got me lost. reeeeeealy lost. skied down the road to smuggles notch, snuck on a lift, hiked back to spruce. you should probably know where you're going before you try unless you want to have a little adventure.

correction!!! angel foods on the left and riverbeds on the right

and i forgot to say that the farther you traverse on bypass the sicker it gets

Sorry. You won't get any tips from me.
Please Stowe skiers don't post info about the BC gems on the interweb.
You've got to earn the secrets. Stowe is already SO tainted with none locals and southern idiots, don't let the woods become the same shit show.
My only tip is there is BC everywhere and off every lift at Stowe, you gotta learn it, and make your own discoveries. In the end you'll reap more reward that way.

I figured I would get that response and I could carless what you call me. If you don't want to post any info don't.

so if me and my friends jumped off some of the trails up top, what are the odds we'll find some good lines through the trees?

Tollroad has some killer lines by the double, but you've got to be willing to hunt for them. Try exploring.
