Stowe and Sugarbush not opening this weekend

There is definately still snow on the mountain for those of you who are doubting. It probably isn't all that appealing but its a base. Its not the top of the mountain they're having trouble with, its the last maybe 1/4 of the way down. Opening saturday pretty much comes down to how much snow they can blow from whenever it gets below freezing tonight until saturday morning. The temps look like they'll be good FINALLY, so hopefully it will be saturday.

TLDR: there is still snow at stowe, just not all the way down to the lift

just called stowe and they said they won't be open saturday.

their website's countdown til opening day says they'll open sunday.

from sugarbush's site:

"Greetings Sugarbush friends! This is Mark, thrilled to be back for the season, even though our season won't be starting just yet. We will NOT open Saturday as intended. Sunday is 50/50, so be sure to check back for the latest information on opening day."

if they aren't... I'm going to cry and give up on humanity. this is seriously the only day I have to ski before christmas break when I go home and ski shitty PA mountains.

Anger. Death is imminent. I swear if the first time I ski is back in CT I am going to cry, and if my mountain in CT isn't open when I get back I will really cry.

so we're gonna have to wait until tomorrow for stowe to open, but we can go to BURTON today and minishred to get ready. so gather all your friends (especially those with trucks) and go there.

They are both going to be open. Sugarbush will have no features or grooming and Stowe wil be open and will have three features and grooming.

started snowing around 2 at sugarbush when i went to get my pass. they will not have features up and its only halfway down but damn it, im going.

flat box, mellow rainbow, mellow cannon. That crazy lookin 'butterknife' thing was kicking around the base too last time i was up there

PS it snowed an inche or two at stowe overnight

anyone who goes today give some updates cus i cant

just got back from stowe, really nice snow for first day, but everything was getting skied out as i left

(hurt tailbone, i wouldve stayed all day hah).

all around great day though!

The cannon kept biting me in the ass. Not as mellow as it looked, but super fun. Maybe I should try and hit it straight before trying shit on it haha. Super fun day. Anyone know if they are going to be open this week? There website doesn't have any info, I would think they would stay closed to make snow.

i was lovin it today...got up there at 8:30 and skied till 2:30the flat box and the rainboy rail were sooo mellow...canon was siick but it would buck you hard and if you got speed for bigger spins it kicked you to the flats....pretty epic first day though

it was wicked fun. got pretty gnarly lower down later in the day but thats what happens. good features and tons of stuff to jump off on the sides of the trail

went up again today and it was going pretty good...more snow falling so a lil powpow...still making snow nonstop nearer the bottom...kinda hard to see with all that but bomb again
