I just got someone to cover for me at on Saturday!

WEAK SHIT

well i guess ill have to go to some shows instead

if theyre not open for turkey day ill shit bricks

On their calendar they have saturday set as a BBQ for opening day... sooooo, maybe? If not, who has a spot in their vehicle for me to Killy? PLeeeeeease?!

don't have the best view from the yard but didn't look like stowe was blowing snow last night, with sunny and 40's today why would they

WTF did Stowe not look at their thermometer last night or the forcast for the temperatures at night this week? Thye could have easily been open. Another reason why I hate Stowe. And they would not have that much snow melt with low to mid 40's at the most durring the day.

Bottom line: we won't open on November 21st as we planned. BUT...we will fire up the snowmaking system just as soon as temperatures permit and open as soon as possible. We're keeping our fingers crossed and closely following the weather forecast. You're always encouraged to do your snow dances and now we'll encourage you to do snowmaking temperature dances, too. So, start dancing and stay tuned--we'll keep the snow phone and website updated.
lammmmmeeeeeee

Could they have opened saterday with the temps this week and snow already there? I dunno im not gonna pretend i know much baout snow making, but it looks like its gonna rain on sat and sun now and do you realy expect them to waste money/water on blowing snow just to have a rainy opening weekend? that would be pretty retarded

tldr: sucks, i wanna go skiing.

i guess the good thing for me is that i have a week off for thanksgiving and sunday river is open back home. then i come back and sugarbush had better fucking be open by then or close to it.

yeah i know, i can see the mountain from my house. it doesnt even look like theyve blown more recently. im heading up to the base today we'll see if theres anything new.

According to their site, Sugarbush is hoping to open on Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving weekend depending on the weather.

it has been fairly warm here, what did you expect? i never make plans based on projected openings because of the number of times i have been disappointed in the past. they will open soon enough.

so i havent checked the weather lately but how likely does it look for bush to be opening the saturday after thanksgiving?

ehhh maybe. they definitely wont be open thanksgiving unless there is some surprise storm and sudden freezing temps. most likely the weekend after i think.

works for me, im not back in vt until this sunday night. maybe ill actually be able to go on opening day to a mountain that i have never been to before. stoked... even though i wish i could just come back to an open mountain

looking at temps for this week, I highly doubt they will be opening on thanksgiving, or even the weekend after. 50 and raining isn;t the best snow making weather.

I've been checking the calendar, prospective opening date for Stowe is set to turkeyday and there's a rail jam on saturday, so we'll see...

your friend is too optimistic. i was at the top of spruce yesterday and it was bald everywhere. and it's not going to be very cold this week

meh, it was like this a few years ago, but mid season we got absolutely annihilated w/ snow. Hopefully it will be similar.

it looks really good for the most part, they got over a foot from the storm (20" at the stake, i skied probably 12-18" most of the way down when i hiked on saturday) on most of the mountain except maybe the last 500 vertical feet. I poked around up near the quad today, they got the guns all set up, as long as they can connect from where they have a decent base (which id say starts at about crossover on the quad side) to lift they're good to go.

blowing like crazy on the north slope this morning when i was up there. the mt must have got some of that rain monday morning. bottom is rough, dust on crust in middle and top was fun. Got one run down liftline

So pumped for this weekend. Does anybody know if Sugarbush is going to have a rail/box setup this weekend?
