No ones stopping you. Support your local shop if ya can, I'm sure they are feeling a bit tight right now.

Great point, and if you can't totally afford it right now but know you'll want new gear eventually, another good option is to buy a gift card right now. Help shops get through this shit for now, and then it's basically like a future present for yourself.

I bought 2 pair of armada and k2 poacher to support a few shops here, hope it helps, they had a shit year, even before the covid-19.

Thanks for the encouragement y'all! I got in touch with Totem Pole in Ludlow VT and I'm on my way to new skis that I can dream about all summer.

So far I've only bought kids skis and a boot dryer. I'm pretty set and I'm moving soon, kids skis are a lot easier to move than full-size pairs.

Trying to not buy some right now, current debate is more playful with some Jeffrey 108s or some rustler 10s which can rip everything my arv 106 can but better and deeper, love the playfulness but not much rocker and they toss me in hardpack so kinda want to go stiffer.

lol... so let me just say I’m still really happy I bought skis from an independent shop in vermont. I have no regrets, and I’m glad I could support them.

THAT BEING SAID.

:’’’’’) they are still there thanks to COVID. the poor shop has just been hanging onto them for nine months because I can’t get up there with my boots to get those bad boys mounted lmao
