Stop Crying People!!!

I am not on this site all the time like some people but lately all i see is this Josh Bryant bashing and i have read a lot of it and what he has said as well and being a person who has been in the industry in California for the last 6 years there are some things he has said that i disagree with and thats fine but this whinning and personal attacks on the guy especially in a cult that he created is not cool.

One thing i will say is the scene in California might not be as big but it is a lot more chill and thats what a lot of people out here in colorado need to do is just chill out and enjoy the sport.

I look forward to stopping into jibij and checking out whats going on.

This is my Rant!

Thanks.

werd to that. i have more of less stopped posting about this stuff cuz it gets so contraversial.

I cant make cool linkies to Handrails cult anymore : (

In order to create change, you must force it. The ski industry is possibly the slowest industry when it comes to change. It's very afraid of it. People can argue about what I said all day long, but it has already caused things to change, and the industry is better for it.

its not the same out there as far as people personaly attacking other individuals and talking shit about someones ridding.

Thats not what its about and the reason it doesnt happen is cus there isnt a concentration of people like there is in CO all relatively so close.

i Didnt post the thread to cry about this topic it was just an observation and my opinion right or wrong of what i have noticed especially on the topic and on this site in particular.

Josh this is a small segment of the industry as you know and of course its growing but i would be shocked if you have been able to cause changes in a year if so more power to you.

I just think change is needed and that will take time and like all old people and things are set in there way and thats what takes time and the way to get these "old dogs" to change is not by bashing them.

Just keep doing what your doing by supporting the small companies and kids will keep buying the product and adults to and hopefully other shops will eventually follow suit and the big companies will be forced to change or be pushed out of the young freestyle movement and they dont want that to happen.

I see what you're saying, but I guarantee that I have forced Dynastar to change. After all this, they offered to make Jibij Pro models of Dynastar skis to get them in here, I still said no. That right there shows they finally noticed that people aren't happy with their same old product, and they will change things next year. And this applies to other companies who didn't lash out at me as well.

Most shops don't say anything, because Dynastar products, (and this applies to almost any big companies products), bring in a lot of money. But I don't deal with them anyway, so I have no issues with telling them if I dislike something they're doing. And that goes for brands that I carry as well. If I don't like it, I tell them. And for the people who said I started this to make money, I drive a crappy used Subaru. I made more working as a shop tech somewhere else.

True, this is the smallest section of the ski industry, but it's the only one with a future. For the past 4 years, the only markets that have shown growth in skiing are tele, womens, and freeskiing. How many old people do you see on straight skis that were made before you were born? They aren't buying skis anymore, and soon they won't even ski at all. And when they do buy skis, it's more and more likely that it will be a twin-tip, because they are better, and more fun.

So yes, I'm fighting to make freeskiing the dominant market section in skiing. Because it's the market I'm in, and the one I care about.

A Jibij Pro Model, that would be sick. I probably would have caved in and gone for that.

that would be crazy to have a jibij pro model, but a dynastar jibij pro model just ruins it.

youre so right we should stop ridding and start riding!

^b/c its a core shop. I hate dynastar, i just dont have enough will power to turn down an offer like that, apparently Josh does. Getting a dynastar ski in the shop would defeat the purpose of the shop.

the fact that you wouldve had a pro model for the jibij shop would be cool....but than the focus of the shop would probably turn primarily to that ski...taking the focus away from other companies which isnt want jibij is about, and sporting newer companies that actually change there skis from year to year and arent in it as much for the money is way cooler, cuz josh isnt working for the money, and the companys arent, so they are helping eachother out which is where the sport should be going

Josh I 100% understand your viewpoint on the industry and how you prefer a company that stands behind their consumers. But from a buisness standpoint, it really cant be good. I mean I dont know about your year ending figures, but say if you were to carry the big brands then i could easily see you being and to double your profit margins. I mean is it really worth it?

Just so you know i think what your doing is great for colorado and the skiing industry, and i plan on supporting the store as long as I can. I havent decided what im gonna get next year but some Invaders would be sick. Anyway im going home tomm, so i will see you all in a coupla months.

Peace,

Colin

You can have a sucesful business while keeping it core and relatively small thats the prob in the industry and i have worked in a lot of shops now and the problem is they get to big, sell out to just make margins and the people buying for the store arent the ones in the shop selling and the customer looses because the customer service and care isnt there. All these big shops are looking at is the margin which is important but not at the expense of having quality product.

Josh that shows progress and i am happy to hear that because thats what needs to start happening people (industry big wigs) recognizing the NS segment of the market cus it is the future.

Yes Colin, despite how the world seems, it is possible to stay true to your beliefs, not sell out, and still make it. It's just a lot harder.

Go Huck Yourself

Well, a lot of people care. If nobody cared, this stuff wouldn't exist. That's like saying why vote? Who cares? If everyone said that, nothing would happen.

you should question everything. question the government, budda, your parents and even yourself. its progression at its greatest form. north coats hard core.

safty first, keep it real and stay positive

this is your sport and you should care about the future and direction it is heading.

If no one cared this segment of the industry wouldnt even exist and salomon would still be selling the 1080 x-scream. lol

ya im not dissin on any one at all all im sayin is that skiing is at a whole new level right now and it is deff. goin to continue to grow and it is only goin to get bigger by people like josh starting ski shops just for us. its just the whole company thing has gotten blown out of proportion i think if you dont like one company dont ski their skis there are plenty of manufactures out there

Go Huck Yourself

everyone has gotten that across already lol! where have you been, the only thing people are saying is basically core companys and shops is where its at

I wish i was a gangster
