I was at mnt snow last sunday in the pow and was sitting at the wafflehouse. 2 kids (around 15) came down and dropped their skis and walked inside. some sketchy guy came up in snowboard boots and grabbed a pair. I asked him what he was doing and he said "i just put my snowboard boots on and am putting my skis in my car" i said I watched the guys drop those skis and they arnt his, he told me to FUCK OFF and mind my own business then took off without the skis. HAHA
Thats 1 less pair of skis on ebay

Mnt. Snow sucks for stolen stuff. I was there in the beggining of the season with a couple friends, we went inside cane back out and my buds poles were gone. The next day we found them up stairs in between the 2 sets of doors at carinthia... Nice job, takes balls to do that and you saved some kid from being ski-less.

NICE. You should have told some staff and given a description of the guy. chances are that he will just come back....

if i saw that shit go down i would have don't the same thing, and if he proceeded to take the skis i would gotten my buddy, and i would have repeatedly hit him with my pole, or tackle him.

++K to you though, that takes balls

you guys should check out www.karmaarmy.com they have tracking ddevice like stickers that you put one on your skis/board/bike and have something on you and when your item leaves the area without it's partner tag on your body, you get a text asking if they should be leaving without you. good thing to check out...saww them at a tradeshow last year and it sounds like a great idea

I've had shit stolen it sucks. Plus when i chill I like to see what others are riding so I take notice of this shit. Some People wonder how their shit gets stolen yet I see people pop out of their skis on the snow and plant both poles right in the snow next to em, then wonder why? I dunno man. use a lock or never take em off. Lol

It is so gay when people steal stuff. I just recently had a tall tee and a jiberish hoodie stolen. there goes a hundred bucks

everyone locks up their 200$ bike but just leaves 800$ skis on the ground...
get a simple cable lock; most ski thieves just take advantage of the opportunity so something as little as a cable lock will be highly effective....

^^it gets retracted tightly around the skis and remains in that position; its not any bigger than a cellphone so still easy to carry around in your jacket or pants...

At many sports stores here in Norway they sell sports equipment insurances where you buy a little chip, register your piece of equipment online and if its stolen they reimburse up to 5000 norwegian kroner, thats a 847 dollars! Im not sure how they actually make it work though but it sounds good.

i think we all should attempt to keep an eye out for sketchy people. i'd be super pissed if someone stole my crap. board, skis, skiboards, helmets, poles w/e.

my poles were stolen on the last day of a trip to sunday river, they were goode composite poles... they left me one goode composite pole and one graphite pole, which sucked because they're completely diff flex. thats such a shitty feeling...

thank you for doing the right thing, a lot of people would just turn their cheek. +K

I use a Skikey, it's much smaller then that lock. All you have to do is slide it in the ski rack. It works perfectly.

And to the thread creator, good job for saving someone.

dunno in the us, but in europe still 95% of skiracks is basically a wooden frame or something very basic; no way to insert a "skilock"
my ziplock works everywhere, i can even zip my planks to a tree of i want :)
just my own preference; its still prety small and convenient....
