Stoked on Stoked!

So I finally got the chance to play Stoked today and I gotta say... it is pretty awesome! There aren't a huge amount of levels to choose from, but they are huge, so it's not an issue. The weather and time of day shit is very sweet. The conditions on the mountain change based on the weather (as to how deep the snow it and whatnot). The gravity physics and controls are really good and realistic as well. Spinning a 1080 is almost impossible, I managed to stick one, no one else was able to. You can do double corks and triple flips, but that's about as extreme as it gets... I wasn't able to throw anything I didn't see in "That's It, That's All", so they did pretty good.

If you ever have the chance to get this game, do it, it's well worth the money.

That's good to hear. I'll have to check it out. The excessive number of frontflips off tiny windlips in the trailer had me worried. Guess it's one step closer to getting a legitimate skiing game.

Ive had the game for a while and never even bothered to try to throw a ten. SW back 9s are as big as ill go. The only thing I dont like about it is you cant rodeo or really cork or anything. The axis's of spinning are not completely free and its weird. Its definitely super fun and super sick though. You kinda have to be a snowboarder or at least know something about snowboarding to enjoy it for sure. The sick thing is, you can get just as far throwing sw back 5s and 7s and even 1s as you can throwing 10s and shit. I wouldnt say the physics part of it is on point, but the tricks and stuff you can do is.
Sick gamed that almost no one has. And you can get it new for 30 bucks now.

well yea, but with the conventional controllers we have for x box, you can't do full axis. you can spin with a flip and you can flip with a spin, but you don't have the dementions to do proper corks... or lincolns and shit. you need a WII style system to do all rotations...

so you can't really blame Stoked for not having full rotations, because with the controller they have, it's truly impossible.

I'd recommend that you'd pass on this game. Pretty shotty really. Gameplay isn't very smooth as it could be. Grab system is a little backwards doesn't make sense, also a lot of grabs are improperly named (Mute grabs are called indy, melon is called stalefish). Trying to combine spins and flips to make corked and rodeos doesn't work (It was possible to do smooth looking rodeos in Amped 1 & 2). Graphics are sub-par. The concept of a couple big mountains and random weather is cool. But some of the terrain they try to get you to do tricks off of doesn't make sense (Huge 20 foot kicker to flat landing). Unless it's bargain bin prices I'd keep pretending Skate's Mega Ramp is made of snow and avoid Stoked. Maybe if they get to make a second one they fix a lot.

my bro on my account, lol

he bought it and i played it for llike 3 min and it was ok but i just had the first level and couldnt do a 3

the game is filthy.... and yes you can do rodeo and corked spins. you hold down the preload button as you pop off the jump then it auto spins about 270 while you use the left stick to rotatate off axis. the game is absolutly amazing for the cost of 35 bucks.

You can do rodeos and corks, when you spin of the lip, hold the trigger down and it keeps your rotation going then use the stick to choose your axis, its kinda wierd at first but once you get the hang of it, its super easy and sick. The controls are a bit like skate, once you get used to em the game is filthy and a great value for 30 bucks!
