so all you ns doctors and hobby mad scientists, i have a problem.

my gloves smell atrociously. the smell i would describe as the feet of a homless person, cat wee, and sweat. believe me you dont want to smell it. but i only have one pair of gloves. they have caught mold a dozens of times because they never dry in one day. after my flat mates got terribly mad, thinking im stacking garbage or rotten food in my room i washed them 3 times in a row. but the smell is still very strong, and now they are complaining that are washing machine is smelly. please tell me how i can get the nasty smell out of my gloves. i dont wanna spend money on new gloves because im really broke right now.

KING TIPS!

put that in your boots and glove:

any kind of softener sheet

each time you come back from skiing, put half a sheet in each glove and boots while drying(try to dry your stuff with a fan). my boots and glove also smell like shit but now they smell bounce =D

Wash them? Then re waterproof them if needed. Do you air your gloves and gear out after everyday? Or just have it in a pile)

i washed and airdried them 3 times in a row, sprayed them full of deodorant but after a few hours of shredding they smell extremely nasty again. when i take them off in the lodge, kids cry and women leave the table...

Deodourant? As in human Deodourant? Or febreeze? You need to air dry them out every day after skiing, not just 3 times in a row

haha my boots smelled rotten eggs lololol and now they smell good. try it you have nothing to loose...

hm ok, i guess i did it wrong then. but when conditions get wetter, they often dont dry in 1 day. theyre still a bit moist and thats the point where the mould i think.

Your gloves sound pretty fucked. The fabric can be starting to rot and stink. Not a physical break down rot, just fabric rot. Tips: when you dry them, try putting them in front of a fan. I used to have a fan blow into my liners, with my gloves also opened up. Get an old paper cup, and cut out the bottom so it's a tube, use that to prop your glove open so it airs out better

Using Bounce or Febreeze on stinky gear is like putting lipstick on a pig.

When your gloves or boot liners or hockey pads or sneakers stay wet, they grow bacteria and mildew. The bacteria and mildew is what smells. The only way to get rid of the smell, is to kill the bacteria.

The easiest way to keep your gear smelling nice is to make sure it dries out fully after use. Pull your liners and footbeds out of your boots, and set them in front of a fan. Same thing with your gloves. Hang all your outerwear up as soon as you get home.

ok i will do that with my gear. i was just amazed that the smell was so nasty, because i never used to have a problem with smelly boots or gloves.

if anyone is scammed, send me his adress and i will send him my pair of gloves. he will most def. not like it.
