Still hate Vail?

Vail has apparently been pulling some weight with local relief efforts. Are they capitalizing on tragedy for the positive PR?

Or do you think they genuinely care?

Anything helps, but yeah it's still marketing for sure. It's kinda like earlier last month Kevin Love made a total PR move donating $100k to help Cavs employees. The dude makes over $82k per day lmao. That's like the average American giving $150 lol.

Either way it's great but you gotta put into perspective that while a few million sounds amazing to us peasants, for others, it might not even make their wallets flinch. Now is when the world could use some philanthropy so hopefully everyone steps up and helps out in all social classes.

I think pretty much every major resort donated it's food to the community/employees so their not really any different in that regard

I hate the "rich person gives away big amount, but its really not that much cause they're rich" argument. 82k is still 82k, it is not worth anyless just cause it came from someone else. K Love could of spent in a countless amount of other ways but choose to help those who make his career possible. Good for him, he has been blessed enough to be radically generous and he is.

So they had left over food to get rid of and they donated it because what else would you do? That's what all resorts have been doing. Why don't they pay their employees who were all furloughed due to the virus?

The question was: Still hate Vail? My answer is: YES! While many folks get laid off and are suffering, they are donating their $1 hot dogs, that they planned on selling mid mountain for $10.

It would be really great to see them go out on a limb and put their $300 million in earnings to helping their local community and fix the situation.

While I think it is great they are donating their food, it would be better if they made a real investment.

This is actually a great brand name if you made a spinoff on it

it does make them look good, on the other hand though they do help provide some services to seasonal employees but theres other organizations helping pull weight in resort towns like Park City. Either way you're kinda screwed if you're not pretty high up in either of the big resort companies right now and even worse for seasonal/service industry workers.

If Rob worked for free during this till the pandemic passes I bet hundreds of part time employees could keep their jobs. Thanks for donating food that was of zero value publicly for PR.

apparently Rob has cut his own salary but he's still a scumbag

" Katz's own salary and cash compensation to members of the board of directors will be cut 100 percent, he wrote"

total PR campaign. They’re probably in damage control because of the whole “let’s evict all of our employees immediately” response to the pandemic
