Stiffer skis

I can get a pair of those 1080 with a racing base that have been used during the x-games half pipe 2 years ago but I would like kwon if that would be a good choice for park riding or they would be just too stiff?? How would they ride in general other than half pipe??

 
if you have to ask about them then don't get them. Go for someting that you are truely atracted to. Any ski will be fine and make do. So you really just need to get what you like.

 
Maybe its just me, but are the Chronic's alot stiffer than last year's 1260?

nope, race bases are hard as hell, and incredibly tough. however, they need to be waxed EVERYDAY! if they were the ones actually used at x, buy them, cause there were supposedly only 2 of um. if not, dont bother. go with pretty much any other ski. i dont know whether you want or dont want a stiff ski, so i cant help you out.

nuthin rally holds up against rails, for instance my public enemies have completly rounded edges under the binding from rails, and ive only had them for one aussie season(alot shorter than ur seasons)

 
those skis are stiff, but for whatever bit of flex they give, the rebound is incredible. when i skied on them i thought they were sick.

a stiff or flexy ski is usually about comfort.., a flexible base will provide smoothness up a tranny and a smooth pop, you can feel the rigidness of a stiff ski up the tranny and a difference when you pop, but you can fly either way...race bases work fine on rails ive never had a problem, just keep your edges sharpend and use wax frequently...peace
