Stiff boots?

Ive been sking salomon foil boots with a flex of 85, in the park they are great and i get almost no shinbang. However when I try and charge with them i get the worst shinbang and massive bruises in the back of my legs, to soft i assume? what would be a good boot for bc charging and pow runs. Can i go too stiff? I plan to keep the foil for park because its just so damn comfy!

a race boot would be a stiff boot

but if you dont want shin bang for big mou. then check out the dalabelo krpton series

How in the world do you get more shinbang when charging (assuming you're pressuring your tongues like you should be, and not hitting the 'wall' of your boots flex) than when skiing park?

a boot fiter can make most boots fit your feet... and how do you know that the foil fits his feet he may be getting shin bang because his boots dont fit properly

Now, now gentlemen...

He should check out every single boot he can, maybe he wasn't fitted for the Foil, who knows...I had the Rampage, and other than my having pronation and my ankle hitting the inside of the shell, they were a great boot, but trying on the Foil, I didn't find myself swimming around with tons of extra room, so it just depends on your foot, and a good bootfitter can punch/grind a boot to make it fit alot of different shapes, so if you're a fan of the way a 3-piece design flexes, that may be a good way to go. But saying he shouldn't bother trying on a certain boot is ridiculous, the one he doesn't try on could very well be the one that fits him best.

i dunno man, with shinbang and bruises on the back of your calf, it sounds like you're "charging" in the backseat!

Sorry i didnt get to this sooner! i guess i have a bit of clearing up to do! I was fitted for the foil for a park boot. Charging isnt the correct word and i apologize, i ment bc skiing off piste, steeps, and cliffs. The foil seems to be flexing when i push forward hard and thus springing alot of recoil as my legs shoot backwards, even when i land normally and on exits of turns, especially if i come up any bit backseat resulting in nasty bruises. Im no gear freak but i do know 85 is damn flexy when my buds are skiing on 100-115 easily....can anyone shoot some numbers out? Is there such thing as a back country cliff boot? or do people just use race boots with booster straps? As for my footshape, i have small feet, 26.5!! I am flatfooted and have average to wider feet. I apologize if i screw up any of the terminology

hmmmmmm... i ski on a 80/85 and its fine for big mountain i dont get shin bang (well once in a while but just when im lazy and lean back or im tail pressing) so check out the edge 10.8 from head i think its 90/95 im on the 9.8 and its sweet
