Sticky wax

i got a free sample of that ocean wax stuff and im scraping it off now and its really sticky...its not flaky like it normaly is...is this normal??

It could be a wax for warmer temperatures which means the wax will be much softer than a wax for colder temperatures. These warm waxes usually feel slow, or 'sticky' when feeling your base after scraping. Brushing is what will take out all the excess wax as it has seeped into the pours of your base, and a scraper won't do the trick.

well the whole point of wax is to create friction with the snow

but i would guess that putting surf wax on your skis doesnt work well

im not an idiot...its ski wax.

and i think the give away is over with...okay ill brush it alot

is there any good improv tools?? i dont have the brass wire stuff or whatever.

maybe its wax for nordic skiing; they apply special grip or sticky wax underfoot so they can push off better....

Hey, just saw this. Yes, the wax is more 'sticky' than say a swix wax. It has to do with the different waxes that go into creating the wax. As other people said just brush, or leave in on and 'ski it off', either way works fine.
And yes, it is ski wax.
