Stickers on skis are for try-hards

as i said in the other thread related to stickers, stickers on skis should be left for sponsored guys to rep the guys who sponsor them. This is the case in surfing...blokes put the stickers of their sponnos on their boards so when theyre photographed for magazines etc, their sponsors get some advertising. It's kind of like exclusivety, and for me, i rekon this system would work well in skiing too. it's also kinda like an honour, give these fellas something extra that they've earnt. i can tell i'm gonna get drilled for this but i want to see if anyone else out there agrees...
 
but you like the companys you that you stick to your skis. so in a way you are repping the company to your friends or whoever looks at your skis... simply out of liking the company.
 
yeh it's interesting, cuz unsponsored guys put stciekrs on their cars and shit like that, but the stickers on the board thing is exclusively left for sponnos. then if you see some kook who cant surf with his board covered in stickers, he gets fuckin ripped. different cultures but i rekon the surfing one works well and truly better
 
Dude. if i was an owner i would want everyone with my stickers on their shit, esspecially if they were wearing my compitor shit. Stickers are like little bilboards and the more you have the more exposer. No mater the fuck has am on. Pros they get their little credit piece cause they a bunch of them to do what ever they want with.
 
or maybe for you to help out companies you support with a little extra advertising or something, while making your skis look better at the same time.
 
When i saw the title of this thread i was ready to do some rippen into and im totally for what your saying, and for the guy above me, if i owned a company, i wouldnt want shitty riders being walkin billboards of me stuff, i wouldnt want him to own my product but not be able to act like he sponsered by it, thus turning people away from my stuff
 
care about what is on your skis, not others. Why care about if someone whats to sticker or be creative with skis? If they wanna put them on, cool. I don't see how it makes them a tool. You sound like a tool for worry about stupid shit like this.
 
Dude the honor of being sponsored is gettin free shit and being in ads and shit, not the fucking stickers on ur skis.
 
you do know that pros get paid for logo placement in ads and articles...

ex...Skier X gets cover shot on powder with a huge base graphic and goggle logo...

depending on cantract it is likely that he gets $$$ from both sponsors

does the sticker police also find stickers on cars, bikes and helmets deplorable too? What a about a Line patch sewn on a backpack? For sponsored people only? Should we not buy stickers or patches anymore because we might look like we're pretending to be sponsored? Or is it that the sponsored people won't look so cool?
 
well then maybe you should stick to surfing if it is such a big concern for you... let people do what the fuck you want. I also have a hard time seeing how the pros would conisder it an "honor" or something that they've "earned" to put stickers on their skis hahaha...
 
well technically you haven't earned it, but if you ask the logic riders and they're down with it, then I guess you could get away with it
 
stickers are the best free advertising a company can get. so from a company stand point sticker the hell out of absolutly every thing in site
 
why the hell do you think a company takes the time and money to have a sticker produced. It's for you to put on something and rep the company.

OH OH OH, and also, you can't wear ANYTHING that bears the icon of a company. No skiing shirts, because that might imply you're sponsored. And no jackets with logos. If you buy an Oakley jacket, you'll have to remove the Oakley emblem or else someone might think you are sponsored.

And if you haven't noticed, Im being incredibly sarcastic.
 
How is it an honor for sponsored athletes to be allowed to put stickers on their boards?? Stickers are like 10 cents and you get them for free most places...Yeah id agree youre an idiot.
 
with stickers, ur repping and showing off products from the company without even being sponsored. i think thats something the ocmpany like. free advertising for their stuff.
 
Yeah seriously its just like dirtbikes.Everyone reps their fav companys with stickers and clothing. Thats like saying i cant wear a line sweatshirt because im not sponsored by line.
 
i like them. you could put them on so your skis dont scratch that well.

If the companys are making them and giving them out I will take them.

Its advertiseing either way.
 
yeah unsponsored kids putting stickers on thier shit is good for companies. they dont have to pay anything for that advertising. who gives a shit what other people do anyways.
 
if it was a big deal then the companies wouldnt produce stickers. They pratically give them shits away. Seriousley think before you post something this worthless
 
Yes, companies love having stickers on riders whether they're sponsored or not. Why do you think half of the T-shirts sold at the malls, have the store's name in HUGE PRINT. People are willing to pay Abercrombie $25 to advertise for them... it's a win-win situation.

And personally, if i want to sticker up my shit... I think thats just what i'm going to do. I don't need anyone telling me i shouldn't. As much as I like the ski I may not like the crappy graphics too. This is why I really don't give a shit about ski graphics. If it's a good ski, you could put a huge penis on their and i'd still buy them.
 
wow, reading this thread made me want to line all of you snatches up and just kick you in the balls. Jesus H-Christ, the guy has an opinion on stickers and their placement and he obviously feels this way because he lives in a different culture with different sports and different styles influencing him each day.

You dick wads dont understand that and have to bitch until the damn cows come home, grow a pair of fuckin balls and get your heads out of ur boyfreinds asses and realized that we all dont think a like and we all have different opinions.

You guys are all saying that they want you to put stickers on yours skis because it gets the company name out there. Are you also telling me that when you look at a blokes skis and see a sticker on there you think "oh that sounds like a cool company i'll investigate into their products". i dont fuckin think so because the stickers all you try hards put on your skis are of major companies that every half brained skiier knows. I have to say, you guys have kinda swayed me in the fact that it gets the company out there, but your hypocritical in the fact that you all seem to be sporting stickers of companies that everyone knows. Thus it's pretty much an image thing to look cool. For those of you repping new companies and young companies, then yeh i have a bit more time for you, but for the rest of (sounds like a lot of you), your all supporting companies that everyone knows already. If you see a guy with an armada sticker your not going to look twice cuz every man and his dog has heard of em, and every man and his dog has a sticker of em on their skis. Your not doing these companies any favours at all if you ask me, because you've ruined the impact these stickers have.People are going to pay a lot more attention to a company if they see some sponsored guy ripping for them and repping them, than if some half hung cock comes along repping them. And you guys should wake up and realise yoiur not doing shit cuz your just putting stickers on of companies that everyone already knows inside out and wont pay any attention to. fuck this post will stir some shit
