Sth2 WTR 13 vs. FKS 14

My questions is whats the better option? Id be paying 15$ more for the fks 14 if that matters. What binding is more durable?

Sth is more durable and easier to maintain. The toe is much better on the sth. The heel is better on the fks. But the durability is the big factor so sth takes it overall for the ease of main ting them.

The Fks 14, with the pivot heel is a much safer binding. There is less of a chance of knee/meniscus/ACL injuries. On a release, the heel pivots in sync with the toe, so nothing ruptures.

*properly adjusted* they *may* help to reduce *certain* injuries.

Honestly though, the ambiguity of the setup of the forward pressure of the binding makes me lean towards recommending the ease and simplicity of the sth more these days when people ask. I will never give up my FKS, but I can totally identify the benefits to a perfectly executed traditional release style binding and it may be better for you if you aren't up on the whole FKS adjustment game.

This is simply not true. The binding will release the same as any other binding set to the same din. The difference is the fks heel can offer some more elasticity then other bindings so can help prevent pre-releasing. But to say its safer because of the way it releases is rubbish.

well I have FKS and swear by them because they have definitely saved me a few times from iffy situations, but My coaches swear by STH and call FKS junk and overhyped. He says that the STH bindgings are just more solid which i agree with, but that the FKS are just overpriced dildos and I should throw them away for a pair of 13's. Since he used to compete on the old Look's, he can vouch for how "alright" the Look's are. So based on that, you should probably look at the STH over the FKS.

Good to know. My bad; I went with the idea that the pivot heel was for safety, and I guess I was wrong. You learn something new every day.
