STH16 Forward Pressure Adjustment

Got new boots, need to adjust my forward pressure. These are the only bindings I have never dealt with until I got them on my LL2s last year. Shop guy I talked to said to click the boot in, and the worm screw will be flush with the back of the binding track. Got home, adjusted them, clicked my boots in and....The worm screw does not move. It is fixed, the heel piece floats over it and move back and forth when it is adjusted. So either the shop guy is wrong, or I'm blind. Maybe both. Anyways, how are these adjusted? I see an arrow on the side of the heel track but I don't know if that's relevant or supposed to line up with anything. The worm screw definitely does not move. No one will held liable for telling me how to adjust it, I'm not a tool. Same thing the shop guy said, and I told him no worries. I would just like to know when it is "properly adjusted".

Much thanks for any legitimate help.

My skis are at work right now, so I can't take a picture. If you take a picture of the back of the heel piece with your boot in, I can explain it to you. It's just hard for me to explain without a pic

Okay well here's the thing with them. You don't want it to be exactly flush on the back. The part that you turn gets a little thinner right at the back of it. The line right before it gets thinner is what you want to line up with the outer casing of the heel piece. So put your boot in and see if you need to move it forward or back. If it is sunk in, you need to back up the heel piece. If it's sticking out past the skinnier piece, you need to move it forward. You might not be able to screw it when the boot is in. So move it in the direction you need to without the boot engaged, then put the boot in to see if it is in the right spot.

My directions that you would have to move the heel piece might be mixed up, but you get what I mean

And i'm talking about the big screw right straight into the back of the binding.

So it would look like you're stabbing a screwdriver straight into the back of the heel piece, parallel to your table

Ok so I feel kind of stupid right now.

No, I do feel stupid.

The worm screw definitely moves, ONCE you have it screwed up tight enough to the boot. I just wasnt screwing the heelpiece in towards the boot far enough. Once you do, the adjustment screw begins to come out, and should then line up with the back of the binding.

Heres the problem:

Mine wont go all the way out, as if they are at the limits of the "adjustability range".

Thats not good, I know. Any suggestions from STH owners or past-issue-plagued users would be cool...

He's got it figured out now, I think. Most of what I said in this thread is wrong too, so forgive me for that. I was confused at the time.
