STH12 bindings in Line Invaders?

I finally got my Line Invaders (178, 07-08, pink-based ;P) which I ordered in April... o.O

So now I gotta buy new bindings before winter and I was thinking to buy the 07-08 Salomon STH12s since I could get them for fairly cheap price and they are pretty much only bindings which I won´t have to order from abroad... I was wondering are they good bindings for jibbing / buttering / park? I wouldn´t ski very much anything else with them cause I have other pair of skis too.

I just don´t want to ruin my ultimate jibbing skis with bindings that are not good for jibbing and stuff.. :P

And I´m about 6'1'' and 165-175lbs. I have kept my Look p12´s DIN at about 6, and they have never pre-released so I don´t think I´ll need higher DIN than 12. Or would I need a lot higher DIN when I butter / jib since I haven´t done that very much yet.....?

Oh yes and I will center mount my bindings of course...

Thanks for answers and sorry for my bad english since I´m from Finland...

There´s like a million binding topics here.... But I haven´t found very much experiences of a guy who´s as big as I am only jibbing with the STH12s...

Holy crap, din of 6?

The STH12's would probably be fine.. but why dont you just throw your P12's on them? I personally have always had much better experiences with Look bindings and jibbing, so.. maybe just try that.

lighter doesnt always mean better... but I digress..

The STH12's would work.. they can handle it if you set your dins a bit higher, for sure.

but look p12's and px12's are really not that much heavier if at all. So dont shy away from them either.

for ur height and weight, if u are an advanced skier ur din should be about a 7...however that bein said if u are throwin 270s on off, or anything bigger than a 360...i would consider going up 1 or 2...but keep in mind this voids any protection from the company in question if u destroy ur knees...because u have been tampering with the binding and am not certified to do so....blahblahblah

anyways...the sth 12 would be a gravy binding...but the heel cuff is not as defined as in say the px12 jib...that might be a better option for you, however the sth 12 will do u justice for sure.

the jib also has no metal in it, which i beleive is the same case for the sth 12, as bindings with this low a din typically doesnt have metal jackets.

I don't know about STHs, but I would not get salomon bindings. I'm about the same height/weight as you, and I have broken s810s beyond repair twice (warrantied first time) and I have a pair of s912s which are cracked around the screws and I only got them cheap (brand new) at the end of last season when the s810s broke the second time. I don't even do that many rails, and only small tables and drops. Plus my brakes are constantly exploding on them, I went through at least 3 sets last season. Most other people I know with salomon bindings, the same things have happened, excpet smaller kids (below 120 pounds).

I've heard the STH series is nice.

You need a high din most likely

How much are you getting them for?

Also look at the Marker Jesters

If there is a price difference of $50 or more, go with the cheaper of STH, or Griffon.

Look PX12's are great too, I've used them for 2 seasons and never really had any problems.

If you plan on starting to throw a lot of bigger stuff off big jumps, you might even look into Mojo 15's. I have them on my Anthems and they are great, way more bomber than any of the bindings above. They will leave you more room for a higher din if you need it, and will probably increase resale value on your skis beacuse they are a higher din and will allow more buyers to look at them without having to buy new bindings. That is if you sell your skis before they are destroyed.

Fuck, I forgot you we're putting them on Invaders. I'd go with the cheapest binding out of STH 12, Griffon, and PX12. Any will be fine for anything you can do on Invaders.

I was about to give up on Salomon bindings until I tried the STH line. Both the STH-12's and STH-16's are absolutely awesome and have converted me back to a Salomon binding guy...go for the 12's that's what I have on my park skis and I love them

Now I think I´ll buy Marker Griffons because the STHs are $55 more expensive. I´d like to get them because they´re so light but would they be too weak for me? I could also get Jesters but they are $85 more expensive than griffons...

griffons are so light, but thats because they are all plastic. i have not held the biding or seen it in person, so i can not really vouch for my info. i have sth 12 getting mounted on my chronics right bow and they seem like a good durable binding. hopefully i can get out on them opening day at mount snow but until then, ill be sitting here. i would get the griffons if they are cheaper.
