STH 16 question

I got a pair of STH 16's given to me for very cheap and I went and had them mounted on a pair of salomon rocker 2 108s. I am 3+ skier and 160lbs, 6' 2" with a 29 boot. been riding at a DIN of 8 for the past few years and last season I moved them up to 9 and enjoyed the hold much more.

I have the STH 16 at a 9 now, is that fine or is the retention not going to be as effective because it is at the bottom of the boots capability?

 
The will be fine, using a din at the bottom end of the range is fine. Its fine at the top end too but the spring will be under maxium compression, so may show signs or wear faster. But at the bottom end you will be fine, just make sure you get them set up correctly.
