Stevens pass avalanche - 3 dead, Salomon Freeski crew missing

Chris was a huge asset to the PNW freeski scene, an incredibly nice man, and always willing to take a lap with you. This is fucking retarded~

This is tragic. I was lucky enough to know Jim Jack. He was an amazing skier, and a very influential person in the ski industry, but most of all, he was an incredibly nice and caring person. This came as a shock to all, and all I can think is Ski In Peace.

FUCK MAN... Vibes being sent that way...Jim Jack was such a righteous dude. YOLO- you only live once... so live it up everybody

I felt physically sick just reading that article. Condolences to all the family and friends of the victims of the avalanche. RIP

Man. Avalanches are sooooo gnarly. RIP. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but today is exactly one month since Sarah died as well. Vibes to the familys, RIP once again.

Freeskiing World Tour, in conjunction with Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, will be hosting a get-together at Snowbird, tomorrow (Monday, Feb. 20th) at 4pm in the tram plaza, for tram rides to the top of Snowbird in memorial of our friend, Jim Jack

There will be no downhill traffic and no lift passes needed for rides to the top of Hidden Peak. All friends, family, and public welcome to celebrate the life of our brother, and amazing freeskiing spirit.

More legends lost today.

Thank you Jim Jack for all that you have done, your legacy will live on forever.

Ski in Peace.

So incredibly sad about what happened today. Cody my support goes out to you and your wife, as to all the others involved. I will miss you so much Chris, you made a big difference in my life. Very thankful to be alive today as I was supposed to be with you guys in Tunnel Creek too. Broke my leg minutes before departure, very grateful, yet very sad. Thanks for all those opportunities you provided me with buddy. A sad season that has been plagued by too many deaths. -- RIP you three. Shred it in heaven for us all. Much love

While I never met the other 2, Chris was an amazingly nice person, and a well known figure at the pass. I was truly shocked by the news when I heard this morning. SIP you 3.

So sad... My thoughts go out to all those affected. Be careful everyone, the snow is super dangerous everywhere it seems. We were setting of small slides even in-bounds here in Austria...

Same here, we stopped skiing the toher day because it was getting sketchy.

SIP, sad loss in the midst of a terrible season for North America it just keeps getting worse.

RIP, an awful story and a big loss.

just a reminder to enjoy every single day you're out there guys. no matter how careful you are, you never know what will happen, so make the best of it

Yeah, our Prince Friso got caught in an avy in Lech this weeend. Still in the hospital, little news..

Sad news, be safe out there!

What a crazy season. SIP to those we lost. To those still here, be really careful. A few days back some buds and I were stopped and heard a slide go above us. For about 3 seconds we weren't sure if it was coming at us or not because we couldn't see too far above our position. Ended up being the opposite side of the slope we were on but being that close is super scary and we got out of there quick. My advice would be that if it's not controlled, don't go. We can get rad pics and footy next season and there's plenty of side country stuff to play in. We don't wanna lose any more of our Heros this year.

this season has just been one big game of roulette. can't express how sad this kind of news makes me, and I can only speak for myself when I say that it really makes me take a step back and consider my decision making process in the backcountry, but I hope that if nothing else these accidents make people step back and consider their risk acceptance.

For me, i think it might be time to hang up the skins for the season. There will be more pow in the future.

i am so glad i didnt read this before i went out skinning on a hut trip yesterday. I would have been shitting bricks.

soo sad, saw this yesterday right when I got off the mountain, made me really think about going into the back country and how dangerous it really is, I don't think the skiing community can take any more losses this year, it's just too devastating. rip and sip

damn she definitely still seems in shock. I don't ever want to be in that position, but am sure glad I found a good price on my ABS earlier this season.

and props to Cody for landing such a babe!

what a shitty occurrence. SIP everybody, my condolences go to everyone's families. part of me does say, though, that no one should be out skiing on high-considerable days. read the reports people.

Devastating.
Chris was a good friend and deserving of the all-encompassing title, 'The Man.'
Heavy hearts at K2.
Thinking Jack and Johnny's friends and family too. Fuck.

Here is an awesome video of JIm Jack promoting Leavenworth. Super Funny Stuff and definitely something Jim Jack wants people to see!!!!!!
