it's such bullshit tho... he is suspended 10 games. that is nothing. punishment needs to be much stronger. and, a player should only get on strike... if he tests positive more than once, he needs to be thrown out.

Just to point a lil sumthin out, it is absolutely amazing that ppl like Daryl Strawberry can do coke all day be involved in drugs and let back into baseball a number of times. Ppl can do steriods and only get 10 games when clearly they are CHEATING the league, the team, the fans, and the game. YET Pete Rose does a little gambling which is legal in the US and be banned for LIFE!! FUCK YOU MLB!!!

I dont really take sides on the pete rose issue, but he wasnt just gambling... he was gambling on his own team, while he was a part of the team, it wasnt like he just bet on some random team

That is very true and understandable, abd im not saying he shouldnt have been punished heavily, but what message are we sending to young kids and ballplayers when MLB says well u can do drugs and steriods as much as u wont u will only get a 10 game supsension but dont bet on ur team to win cuz that would be cheating!!

I dont want to turn this into a Pete Rose thing but bottom line if u say oo he took steriods it was a mistake give him a slap on the wrist and move on u are goin to have a ton of ppl juicing which is already a huge problem!! So lets get tuff on these guys and end it now!!

i thought rose bet on his team to lose and he put in crappy players to throw the game, but you are probably right.

there is no way that palmerio wolnt make the hall of fame because he has 3000 hits and 500 home runs, and baseball cant prove that he used them before this time

 
Well he has tarnished his image and as far as Im concerned if as many as 1 hit or 1 HR came from the use of steriods which it did he wouldnt get my vote and peter gammoms and many many ppl whos vote do count have already said they will ok at this heavily when deciding on letting him in and it takes a huge 75% margin of these ppl to get in and he pissed them all off big time!! so its very possible he wont see the hall

Major League Baseball is the problem here. That, and the fact that Bud Selig is a major douche face.

Basically, here's what went down... Palmeiro took (and failed) this test some time before the All-Star break. He and MLB both got the results (fail) of the test sometime around the All Star break, before he got his 3,000th hit. MLB elected to keep it quiet, and allowed him to go through the entire appeals process in secret, and only after his appeal was denied was the fact that he had failed a steroid test revealed to the public.

MLB needs to stop covering up for the players and get their shit together on the steroid issue... either they're going to crack down or they're not, there is no halfway commitment that will work.

Also, the Mariners pitcher who was just suspended 10 games for failing a test... 3 weeks before he took the test that he failed, he was tested, and he passed. So either somethign is flawed in MLB's testing policy or the testing itself, or this guy just had some bad timing...

Either way... I am firmly against the use of methamphetamines between innings.
