Step up? Step down?

I've never really understood what each type of jump is, i.e., step up, step down, true table etc
Help?

a step up is where the landing is built higher than the lip. step down is where the landing is well below the lip. true table is where the landing is on equal plane with the lip.

a step up meets your at top of your jump, the landing is higher than the take off.

see here, you really land just over the knuckle
