Steamboat Springs Terrain Parks Opening?

Hi NS,

Just wondering, would steamboat have a full park set up dec 14-19? My college is going to steamboat and I'm trying to decide if i should go there or slc

from what ive heard, and this is in no way accurate, is that even at the peak of the season Steamboat's parks are nothing impressive. Not that they suck, they are just mediocre. However if PCMR exists by mid december, i know they will have a very sick early season park. Lots of fun creative jibs and usually a jump line. Theres also a decent chance you will get to ski some real pow in SLC around then. Based on my Utah ski adventures, you really can't beat it no matter what your into. Brighton's park also doesn't blow, and if you get the inkling to ski some urban slc is famous for it.

If you want great terrain, what could be great pow days and a true ski village, not to mention great nugget steamboat it is. If park is your main and only concern, PC is for you.

College ski trips are almost always just a drunken, pot filled good time with some generally cool people, and some gapers. If the price is right, get out to Steamboat.

Steamboat sucks, its the closest mountian to me but I drive the extra hour to aspen. Overpriced for the size and vintage of facilities

They have a small jib park toward the base of the mountain before and during christmas break. After that they get to work on the big parks.

P.S:That had ben my understanding from a few years back so idk if its like that know.

depends you could luck out and get some reallly good early season pow like we did this year but chances are its going to be just some little rails . its still fun though

The last season boat was doin legit park was 06-07.

Everything is downsized now but it can still be fun, specially if your shredding with friends. But even when park was legit, srsly dont go to steamboat for park. Go there for Pony, N St Pats, Tomahawk rollers, Shadows.....etc. The mountain is big and theres plenty of fun spots, so go out there and explore. I wont even talk about the easy sidecountry access. The new 4 points lodge is probably one of the nicest in the country since it was just built this summer for roughly 6 mil+.

If you're 21+, fuckin go out and send it. Skip the college crowd and just go for the milfs. If you're not of age, guess ur best bet is to ski/poke around and see about any house parties. Best spot on the mtn is slopeside.
