Steam on Mac OS Lion HELP PLEASE

I download it fine but then it makes me update and gets done at certain parts and says something like "Steam needs to be online please make sure internet's connected blah blah blah"

But I don't lose connection.

I've tried deleting the old steam folders and regisrty file... nothing works

Anyway, I did a clean install on my mac a week ago and had no problems installing it... Worked like a charm (though I haven't played any games yet, nor will I in the next 6 months probably. I friggin' hate gaming, lol.)

Try opening it. mine installs fine but tries to update when you open it and it can't
