I would like an opinion of newschooler members who have or do wakeski. Seems that the whole wakeskiing thing is dying out.

Both ski manufacters have discontinued production of new wake skis and selling out the old ones (http://www.hosports.com/ andhttp://www.stereoskis.com/wakeskis).
Why do you think is that ?
I have heard that linear cable parks ar too slow for wakeskis. Is that true ?
I started park wakeboarding last summer and it is fun, but I want to try out wake skiing, but no skis here, so I have to buy them and I don't know if it worth it? It would be more natural to stand on something more similar to winter skis also in summer.
What are your thoughts ?
