Stash park

I've been up there while they were putting it together Tim. It is definitely very legitimate. The features are quite large and burly.

don't be a vag and write it off because it's more snowboard friendly, if your good enough it'll be fun for everyone. the lean-to wallride thing will be fun for everyone

Yeah, the only metal that was used in the whole park was the nails, screws and bolts holding things together, the rest is all locally sourced wood.

word, i know it's mostly made for snowboarders but if you get creative enough (50/50 onto stuff) you can still have fun and not catch mad edges on the wood stuff. overall i think it's an awesome concept for a terrain park even though it may not be as skier friendly as we would like. i mean 10 years ago everything in the park was made for snowboarders but that didn't stop anyone from having fun with it

was at the stash park on the 29th it was a real nice atmosphere...seemed pretty well kept i have a few downfalls though

1 obviously i couldnt hit the wooden rails on my skis

2 the jumps were horrible...they looked sweet but shot you straight out and it was so hard to judge for speed

i really liked all of the stalls and wallrides they had though those were madfun

its actually pretty fun, but they REALLY need to do something to control the crowds and clear the landing. the end of the day is always full of people who have no idea what they're doing and pizza around, stopping in the landings. super dangerous to have someone you can't see doing that. I ended up standing around waiting for it to clear.

That's the biggest thing I've noticed. Tons of knobs everywhere. Way more than a normal park too.

im goin up saturday but the website say its closed. whats up with this? fucking mountain websites are so vague.

that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

This is killingtons publicity stunt to try to keep up with Mt snow.

Say what you want.

tree stall on that was legit. It'll be just like last year at Au Natural, super fun. If the logs are well enough sanded/sawed, then its pretty safe. I also have eaten shit on a number of not so well constructed log rails, but they're worth it.

sweet, there was nothing up as of last week. though I did have a great run with plenty of fresh snow !

what's with the change from dreammaker to dreammaker headwall, the northway, then dreammaker? it makes no sense, it's still one trail! and the headwalls are always kinda unofficially labeled headwall, or upper/ lower whatever.

ah true true. and the crossover being taken out.. that's a bitch too. I've never seen the skye peak chair so crowded, as it's now the only feasible way out of bear. they've only moved all the traffic to different areas!

what are the chances they put some ropes on the sides of the stash landings? it's way too sketch to hit without someone telling you when you're good to go, and even then people are so unpredictable.

the stash park is so sick. we lapped it at least five times and still havent seen all its features. the fiddle was also open on bear today but the cover was thin and the snow was kinda heavy.

When I was at killington, there were tons of little kids scattered throughout the park. just looking at everything. It seemed that it was used more as an attraction than actual use when I was in there.

i think they need to make the landings a bit longer caus the jumps are too big u barely need speed to clear and there are way too many people in the park like standing on jumps an shit

I'm a big fan of the stash actually... I have been once. All of the wooden rails that are carved down so its not just bark and knobs are just fine to hit on skis....
And the sugar shack flat down is massively fun. And the butter pad is alright but small, and the stalls are super fun too.

has anyone hit the first flat log right when you enter the park? is it doable on skis, or will I dig an edge and eat it?

everything in the park that is shaven (all the log rails that are stripped and flat, not all bark and knobby) are perfectly doable on skis. I don't know why everyone thinks that their feet will disintegrate when they touch wood

haha well last year I hit the one log they had out.. and completely ate shit. banged up my elbow. yeah, I'm just being a pussy about it now. I'll try it out this weekend, thanks.

Yeah im not just calling you out, everyone in this thread thinks the world will end when their skis hit wood. Unless you religiously sharpen your edges your fine.

The first flat log in the Stash is completely slidable, though most of the other features are definitely geared toward snowboarders. The big butter table is probably the best feature, except for the hidden down log on the end...

And what if I do sharpen religiously? Its a deeply spiritual act of honing my soul. I practice my religion daily. As a matter of fact I think it has been 1.5 years since I last got a tune and I log jibs/rails are my favorite type. Can't wait to ride the stash. MS has a sick loking a-frame log stall up now too
