well with all that snow and theyre snowmaking im sure theyll open more terrain. i wouldnt expect much waist deep pow in the trees but hey

ooo i dunno i wouldnt wanna mis inform you. have you tried checkin the jackson site? they probly have some pics up of what it looks like right now. so just picture what the have with like 2 more feet or so?

wow your worried? do you know how much i and fellow east costers would cream them selves if it snowed that much for that long.

west coasters need to be more grateful, spend a week out here and then see how much you appreciate all that snow.

I see where your coming from, i live in NYits just hat i dont ski that often and this might be my only chance this year to get some backcountry if there is any.

well since id rather be doing anything than thinking about my astronomy final in the morning, i just IMed my friend who lives in jackson right now...ill let you know detailed conditions as soon as i get em

ok so he said the runs that are open are decent packed powder that theyre maintaining pretty well. not really any BC open yet. snowmaking is progressing well and they havent lost any base or anything, so theyre retaining most of the little bit of snow they've been getting.
supposedly good news: theres supposed to be a bigass storm coming in tomorrow and saturday. he's hoping for a foot or more, so that should help things out significantly, especially if it manages to settle and there's another dump before you get there.
i dont see anything on the radar yet, but forecasts are calling for similar conditions all the way through the rockies tomorrow, so keep an eye on it

headed out there with friends on the 21st but actually staying in targhee - it is another resort in the tetons maybe an hr and a half or so from jackson. they are 100% open as of today, so if worse comes to worse and stuff is still looking slim in jackson, you could always day trip it to targhee while staying in jackson.

your worrying about if you can ski backcountry. while im worrying about if theres gonna be snow to ski on...it pouring rain outside. eating up all the precious snow.

yo i am in the exact same boat as you. Im also getting to jackson on friday, and it looks pretty dry (compred to usual) but they are about to get hammered by some snow alll this week and possiby through next week. i think it should work out fine.

cool dude
ya i think once the tram opens on friday there will be many more of the maountain open.
do you have a ns sticker on your helmet?

helmets are for pussies.

haha no, i have the red HIFI with the cloth cover, so no stickers on that, but i have the yellow rossi scratch BC with a bunch of NS stickers and an ozone oakley evo jacket and antifreeze aframes with fire lens. holler at me
