Start Calling Your Tricks!

So the season's just around the corner and I'm sure everyone's stoked on what new tricks they're hoping to try.

Every year I think up what tricks I'd like to try but I rarely follow through on them cause I'm a huge bitch especially on jumps.

I'm going to post what I want to accomplish. Join in if you please. And at the end of the season we'll see how much we've all progressed.

Early season:

-All four 360s with grabs on a jump larger than 30 feet.

-All four 270s onto some kind of a rail.

-all four 270s off some kind of a rail.

Mid-season onwards:

-switch 540 both ways

-450 onto a rail or narrow box

-540 in the pipe with a decent mute grab

-unnaty slide to FS 450 off

-BS 450 out

Early season:

-All four 360s (natty with grabs) on bigger jumps

-270's on (natty or unatty)

-270's off (both blidside, and frontside)

Mid-season onwards:

-switch spins (360 and up)

-270's on most rails

-540 on bigger jumps (possible grabs)

-720

-rodeo and flatspin 5

Incorporating nollies and butters into every trick I do
2 in pretzel 4 out
switch up blind four out
Switch 3 both ways
5 with three different grabs besides mute
surface switch ups on a rail
not necessarily pretzeling a 360 switch up (both ways) but stopping the rotation
disaster 2 and 4 in on a flat down box
I'll start with that lol

im hoping to get cork 7s and truckdriver 3s this year. and rodeo 5. all the shit ive been practicing on my tramp all summer lol

I know this sounds lame compared to everyone else but,

I want to get 3's and 5's on lock with grabs and stuff thrown in. I can throw a three but it's super sketch.

I also just want to get better at tree skiing and taking lines.

and also butter or spin of a drop, it sounds fun.

Early season.

cork 1 off a 230 foot gap. Then right when I land I will go off a double stager consisting of one 175 foot cliff into a 7 kink rail which i will do 3 switch ups on and pretzel 990 off...over the edge of the next 100 foot cliff, which I will do a triple cork off of it and land on yet another 12 kink rail which I will just slide cleanly because I will no doubt be out of energy by the time I get to it, and 12 kings is a lot anyway, give me a break.

Late season: Same thing except go way bigger.

a lot of people on NS are in the same boat, don't be embarrassed. it's all about fun!

personally, I want to take a lot of park tricks to the BC off natural features and stomp em hard with rideaway steeze if possible. Also rails, I have virtually no rail skills whatsoever.

I want to learn bios this year, too...anyone have advice for that?

-bio/misty 540

-540 grabs on lock

-360 more grab variations than just mute

-270 off final of 4 ways

-450 off any way

-cork 720

-rodeo 540

-all four 360s

-switch 540

-keep it going from there, just gonna be checking stuff off

don't worry about it man. everyone starts out somewhere, all of us have been at that stage. it's good to get involved in the ski community as early as possible, you'll just progress faster

Yeah, imagine that, positive encouragement on NS? WHo would've thought it possible?

Season goals are to get comfortable with all variations of 270 down, on and off, 450 off, backflip/front, 720 and maybe 900 with grabs, learn how to get corked, and more tech grabs with 540. GReat expectations, but I'll spend more time than ever before on snow, so we'll see how it goes...

This season is going to be the first time i've ever really got hit decent sized jumps for more than a couple of hits and also the first time i'll get to shred decent rails or any pow or cliffs. with that in mind my first objective is to learn all my best tricks at the moment on bigger features then...

Early,

jumps; rodeo 5, right 5, fakie 7, 900, 540 jap-nose(japan and nose grab at the same time).

rails; lip to nose slide, tail slide, 450 on a box(not too wide) 270 off, 270 pretz 270, front side switch up combos, 450 off.

other; 360 nose bonk, 360 off a small cliff or drop, 180 into pow(off something small most probably), nose butter 360, hand plant

Mid/late,

Jumps; fakie right 5, right 7, misty 9, more creative grabs on spins over 360, fakie 9, rodeo 7, fakie misty 5,7 &9

rails; 270 nose slide, tail slide 270, backslides, forward and fakie nose press', combos including brokens, backslide, fastslide, nose slide and tail slides.

other; hit urban, bigger cliffs, more creative things.

Get my spins up to 720 solid with grabs.

Move up to cork 5's

Overflip

Maybe rodeo 5 or flat 5

Backflip

Get good at urbans

i def. need to get

misty 5s/7s, sw. rodeo 5s/7s

grabbed front/backs

grabbed 9, sw 7s

cork 7s,5s

SOME double, no matter which

bigger pow lines (more than 500 ft vertical)

bigger cliffs (more than 30 ft)

maybe some tricks off them, but maybe not

generally more rail stuff, but i am not too sure about the setup were getting, so thats a question mark

yah man, i usually try to get some work done on jumps and whatnot whenever i get out west, but last year there was sooooooo much snow the couple weeks we were in CO that alllll we did was ski trees.
no regrets whatsoever, but i still suck at jumps. ive got the same goals as that kid, 3's and 5's on lock.
rails im better at because that's all we have in the mid-atlantic, but i still have a lotta work to do. i need to figure out more lip stuff, and switchups i kinda suck at, and i only have like half of the 270's figured out.
thank goodness im moving out west, ill have all the time in the world get this stuff figured out. hopefully i surpass these goals way early in the season, that would be neat.
