"The Star Wars team is thrilled to announce the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

Director J.J. Abrams says, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015."

Absolutely frothing at the bung for Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleesen is an encouraging addition too.

so the movie is supposed to take place like 30 years after the last one,. I mean that's a long time, but i don't think Luke would look this old.

I think it'll work, assuming he can still act

Should be alright. This actually doesn't sound too bad.

I bet episode 7 is supposed to be when Luke is old and it'll be his son or something who's the main character.

Also this girl is going to be in it:

fucking hot

They are going to have to be careful with the plot with there being so much lore taking place after episode 6 already.

They're basically saying they'll ignore any parts if the EU they feel like, except the clone wars series.

Good, some random bullshit authors don't get to decide the fate of the New Order.

Disney does, because they have more money.

Even though 9/10 those authors could probably write a better story black out drunk then disney/jj abrams team

i'm not sure what else they would base it on. Unless they do the whole emperor returns thing. But i thought that happened after the new order. Or they could make a new story up.

I'm scared to go and watch it. The first one 3 were probably the most disappointing movies I ever saw. Such shitty prequels.

It's the same screenwriter as Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Raiders of the Lost Ark, so you're completely wrong. None of your fan fiction would even exist without this guy. What an ignorant thing to say.

While I agree the screenwriter is great, calling the EU fan fiction is absurd.

How about you go read a book and then say that. Most of the EU is much more compelling then anything in 4/5/6

It's books, created by fans, that are fictional. There's nothing offensive about the term fan fiction. The books were based on the scripts written by the man who is writing the next movie. If that's not fan fiction then what is?

I'd be happy to read a fanmade screenplay that you think is better than The Empire Strikes Back, sure.

Anybody who's spent a decent amount of time on the internet and doesn't read fanfic or write it probably sees it as a derisive term.

In other news, Rian Johnson (directed Looper) is writing and directing Episode VIII! Fucking dope dude I can't wait, gonna be way better than episode VII.

Excellent, he will create a plot hole so big it will swallow these new movies inside of it and make them disappear.

Did you watch Looper?

They should have billed 'plot holes' as the leading actor for that movie.

Yeah I did. It was a dope ass movie. Do you deny? I didn't notice any plot holes at all, maybe I'm just not observant enough. What are some that you noticed?

Yes I deny, it was mediocre at best, but then again I'm a harsh critic. When a director claims they're making a "serious" time travel movie, rather than some Hollywood Michael bay nonsense with explosions, things and excitement, we'd expect him to at least acknowledge, if not grapple with, some of the intricacies science fiction novels (and indeed physicists) have been dealing with for decades. On this front Looper isn't Primer or Donnie Darko and I will rate it as such.

Just do a quick google, Looper is filled with plot holes that could have been avoided If anyone had actually read the script.

Back to Star Wars, with JJ Abrahams directing, how much lens flare should I expect?

There is likely a high correlation between the number of Star Wars nerd pornos you read and the number of years past your 18th birthday you were a virgin.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, oh wait, yes there is.
