ok.....so ive been doing star trail pics by just letting the shutter open for an X amount of time. I want to try it a different way by taking a series of 5 or so minute exposures then stack then using a program. I have seen stuff about Blank (black) layers when doing this method. do you need these layers? if so how many do you need in the stack or is it just a guessing game.
