Spyder VS. oakley

So I have been rocking Oakley for some time now....been pretty happy with them (zippers suck though) I have not been too crazy aabout next seasons line up....BUT....next seasons spyder looks sick and I have heard that spyder is like bomb proof...does anyone here have any good or bad experences with spyder?

thanks for the help...

spyder makes a legit product. it is just a bit pricey for me. I would say stick with oakley or go to saga seeing how they are blowin up

i dont mind paying a bit if it lasts, what i did see and do like about spyder is that there lifetime warranty...oakley is like only 30 days. I got screwed once with oakley and there warranty...

i got some spyder pants, and they were like 90 $ and they are by far the best ski pants i have ever had... impossible for water to soak through and very insulated. i love mine, plus they are probably the most quality gear out there. If i can find a jacket by them next year thats one of the colors i want, then i will most likely get it

I know they have a armor/lime jacket....maybe a just lime...not sure though...then there are some blue/white also ofor next season....pretty sick looking stuff...I really took a liking to the armor/lime stuff

a buddy of mine at a shop had the cataloge...

I saw the armor/lime last weekend at abasin(ski place in colorado) on a sponsered spyder skier..

Back that up and i'll stop buying Oakley.

There is a difference between a company taking advantage of low-cost labour and voilating fundamental core human rights in order to gain a competitive advantage.

Nike, sure. It's proven..

Oakley? I don't know about that, but i really hope it isn't true.

I think if it were true Oakley products would not be as good as they are. I dont buy it. I think they just take advantage of low cost labor like you stated.

i have oakley coats and love them. ive looked at spyder before because ive heard they are nice, but i dont have the money to drop on some of their really nice gear. but if cost reflects quality, then both should be nice, however i think spyder reflects that more (less focused on the name, more focused on quality products). i think saga's a nice blend between the two, seems like a good price for sick gear.

our oakley rep has been to their production facility in whatever third world country its in, apparently no children, just a bunch of poorly paid people working a fairly high amount of hours

I've been riding all winter with a guy from spyder over here in euroland. He was rocking the same suit that biiby has been rocking, like the two tone patchy blue suit that is sick. Though he had it in white and black. The suit was so sweet, stood up to so much abuse, real high quality stuff. Seemed like it was amazingly waterproof too, so much more than the Evo jacket that's for sure... The only thing i will say is that it seemed to get so dirty so quickly, more than your usual white stuff. Apart from that, I am highly considering getting the blue setup for next season...

(or saga, but i got a feeling every damn kid is going to be rocking this in America land)

yo, i think i may have a picture of him straight airing that shows the suit, if anyone is interested.

I'm rockin spyder Godfather Pants & Jacket in their "money" color. i think it looks pretty sick. look at my pics in my profile to see if you like the look Yea its a bit pricey, but holy shit do they hold up, living in michigan i've skied in pure shit rain/slush conditions and these things kept me dry as a bone. great storage pockets and vents.

yea, i think lots will because its kinda a fad, but they also make some legit products too, and im in the market for pants, so its not like im just buying them to get the name. that kinda ticks me off when people do that.....

Why's oakley getting ripped for using sweatshops? Spyder even produces in China. Almost every company produces in third world countries. I've never seen the tags, but I'll bet saga's made in china or india too.

i bet people down in china are like wtf???? is this stuff why would you want brite, thick, pants and jackets that are huge?

Yeah the saga seems legit as hell, the quality is far better than anything i've ridden or seen before. I haven't read one complaint of the actual product this whole season and last. But you know when you're just hesitant to buy something because everyone else is going to be repping it... Especially if I'm hitting up Breck next season or whatever.

I'll get pics up as soon as i can.

Peace

Spyder is actually getting less expensive now. When i was browsing earlier on this year they had some legit prices. I also found some electric blue pants for about $70. Spyder is getting legit now.

im down with oakley stuff i have never had a problem with them but just send the stuff back if it brakes but saga id dope but there are 3 suits talk about mainstreem next year

i have the spyder cr johnson stuff. its completely legit. had it for two seasons, everything still works.
