Sport chek for mounting bindings

So what do you think about getting bindings mounted at sport chek, I've heard people saying to stay away from it but is there a real reason for that? I mean, a big company like that must have certified techs to mount, jigs, etc. How hard could it be to center mount bindings on a pair of skis? Anyone have any negative experiences with mounting there?

A friend of mine works there and he said it really depends what shop. at his shop theres this old guy who mounts everything and there are never problems but at some location i hear its just brutal.

Dude stop wasting money and having someone mount your bindings for you. Do it yourself, do it better then what the shop could do, and its cheaper. Mounting costs $40 where I live and I'm tired of wasting money.

i work at the tech shop in sport chek and its not too bad , they wont let you even touch skis (unless there your own) unless you pass the online certification and get training on atleast 5 mounts for that certian brand. if I were you i would just talk to the manager and explain your a very advanced skier and you want the head tech to mount your shit up because if anything is wrong with the mount your going to know right away. so basically just tell him that you need the best guy on it and show him where you want them mounted and mark tips and tails too witht like tape and a marker.

as long as they know your not a weekend warrior they will pay special attention to detail. (good luck)

if you have any issues let me know. ( my uncle is at head office for canada and he will make sure you get new skis if anything goes wrong)

non-ski specific shops mess up mounts all the time. mostly because they have so much business they can afford to screw up and not care

ive seen bindings that were mounted in the wrong spot, or for the wrong BSL

sadly, ive even seen bindings where the heel or toe piece was mounted the wrong way.

basically, support your local shops. become friends with the techs and itll really make sure you always get what you want.

Dude I took the Salomon Tech test, its a joke, anyone can be certified even if you dont know how to mount a binding to be certified. Just mount your binding your self, its hella easy.

Ive had mine mounted there. Theres only one guy that i trust and he knows i want them dead center so he measures them out right in front of me just to be sure.
