i saw a pair of those scratches that are below the fs and are white & red at southcenter sport check for $750, at techno sport i saw the same pair for $500. what a joke.

haha maybe they are so stupid and have no idea bout skis that they think those are the new fs for this year so they put them at that price, i wouldnt be surprised

i used a coupon and got scratch f/s and scratch bindigns for like 400 a couple years ago, it was sweet

don't support sportchek, they buy the bottom line skis and undersell all the local shops, if you run the local shops out then all the good gear won't come into town

Haha, i probably shouldnt say anything but i bought my fisrt pair of skis there 3 years ago and theve broken a bunch of times so they 'upgraded' my skis everytime. I ended up with scratches but only payed the original price of 140 for these salomon peices. i just need to break em to get the new ones of w/e they carry. i wouldnt buy skis fomr there again, but lets just say i aint complaining

 
go to the outlet in queerfoot mall, all the pricetags are held on with scotch tape and the salespeople are too dumb to know what shit costs

back in the day at ski camps me and a friend tried electrical taping kids to beds because duct tape was too loud. it never wound up working though.

sport chek is a sham. many skis on their walls aren't even real skis. however, they are the largest vendor of skis in canada. that means when they order skis from say atomic, they bully the manufacturer into doing special things. like the 9.22 carving ski, sport chek had a 9.24 that was the exact same except for those two hundreths of a point. but then they get bragging rights about having a 'higher' model and nobody can price match with them. sport chek also sold a salomon x-seris ski that was only available at sport chek. it was a whack ski and the whole company is kinda whack. they're getting better now, the new one that opened in richmond is actually kinda nice and sells decent gear. however, the fucks that run the company i hate and they treat their employees poorly too. support your local ski shop

oh, and if you want to rip sport chek off, it's actually really really easy. switch the tags and the people at the cash are too dumb to know.

hucksplat is right. the whole sportcheck/ Forzani group is totally fucked up, with an even more fucked up head office. trust me.

Sport Check, as much as we bitch about it, is usually where cheap ski bums like me get the gear they can't afford (usually its last-year's stuff). Don't get me wrong, I hate Big Business and support Fresh and the Cellar as much as I can, but sometimes you need new gear and Sport Check is the only place you can find gear for cheap. So until someone offers me a job that pays me enough, I guess I'll be buying crap from Sport Check...

just think about...... Spotchek=large corporation(much like transworld...which is in the process of shutting down Freeze), they only care about money. Atomic and Salomon are carried there because they have the highest consumer mark up, which means they can undersell all teh local stores making almost no profit because they can counter that by selling thousands of pairs. Most local shops can't match them because they only bring in maybe 10-20 pairs of a certain ski so marking them down would bad business.

Haha, good point. All my skis are from the Cellar, lol. A lot of my other gear is from Sport Check, though.

i bought concepts (witht the cow bottom thingy) last year for 100 bucks, and they lasted me the whole year and were a great ski
