Hokay sooo...take two...

So my parents won't let me buy myself a car...I dunno why...mainly money I'm guessing...So I was thinking Motorcycle....finacialy friendlier...economically friendlier..and some other friendlier things I forgot...all in all i think they might go for it...

Only problem is I don't know much about bikes in general..nevermind sport bikes...So i guess what I'm asking you folks for is some things to look for in a decent sport bike. Brands that hold up well, anddd and idea of what a used bike from maybe a few years ago may cost me...thank you

Yamaha R6. Year good bike to learn on. And very common. Theyre all over craigslist. If you can find other 600s like the honda cbr600rr or f4i, gsxr600, and others. But ya, Yamaha is going to be the easiest.

yeah, seriously. they'd much rather have me in a car. my parents aren't too fond of motorcycles at all. this is surprising. plus, does a used/new motorcycle really cost that much less than a used/ new car? I have no idea what motorcycle prices are like.

perhaps, you should get this one...

Grab up a 600CC bike, when or if you feel the need for a bigger machine just resell it to some kid. 600CC bikes change hands pretty often, finding a newer used one for less than your budget wouldnt be hard at all, only a few thousand. the depreciation on a used one will be less during the year or 2 you ride it then it would be if you bought a new one and then sold it later.

The new R6, CBR RR and GSXR have pretty aggressive riding positions. the kawi isn't far behind but for a long relaxing ride I'd go with that one. the CBR is probably next in line. you can also look at a regular CBR600 which would be cheaper, more comfortable and still perform just fine for you.
