no but I have friends who are legitimately sponsored and it’s not as cool as it seems. Depends on the company but when that company gives you free shit/money they own you. You pay them for the gear/money through your existence as an advertisement. Do you think Alex Hall actually enjoys meeting the quota for Rockstar energy cans in his ig posts?

From what Ik dan doesn’t rly sponsor as in pay but give people gear to film some wtrp or edits in or just hooks some homies up with gear. You could always ask him

This thread reminded me of this guy I met at my mountain called Fruitsnack Jack. He claimed to be sponsored by Mott's and have a lifetime supply of their fruitsnacks. Shoutout to him if he's on here

sponsorships are a conspiracy by the big ski companies to try and get kids to spend their money on ski gear in the hopes that they will one day get gear for free.

seriously tho it really doesn't seem like anyone who isn't already established is getting sponsorships anymore. The industry only has room for so many pros.

Im sponsored by my girlfriends dads company(local TV station), I get gift cards to a ski shop and restaurants for when we go on dates. Not too bad.
 
I got a free t shirt when I bought my goggles so I guess you could say I’m a big deal.

The resort I work at get 30% off at a shop down the valley so yeah, part of my job involves skiing so I'm actually a pro.
 
Virtikas instagram account is really weird, they've commented on two of my posts for some reason, and I only have 700 followers or so

One Time I landed like 4 hookit sponsorships when I was 12, lives my dream of being a pro skier even though I could barely 180. Life was good back then.

Virtika deff has some sort of bot liking and following accounts for them. I commented on one of their pics after some of the David Lesh and they liked 3 of my pictures per day for the next week.

I think sent them a DM calling them out again a few days later and now I'm blocked by [tag=130634]@Virtika[/tag] @VirtikaEU and @DavidLesh. Still tell people what an asshole he is when I see them wearing his gear on the mountain. Fuck that dude and his shitty white-trash company.

Most sponsored people I know got their first sponsorship through a shop, or got sponsored by the shop itself. Plus if you're nice they can give a good word to reps.
