Sponsership

You will know when you are ready. It's not a matter of being able to do certain tricks.

Life sucks, get a fucking helmet

-Denis Leary

why is it always the begginners that are so anxious to get sponsored?

changing the stereotype of skiiers one jib at a time

you should be able to fit an 8 inch cack all the way down your throat without gagging.

'Dude, check out this nasty gouge.'

'your mom has a nasty gouge.'

you wont get sponsored with that attitude

A sponsorship means some company/organization/individual supports you.

Develop a good relationship with a small ski shop or something in your area.

Show them what you can do for them, and it helps to be good at skiing too.

Perfect your own style, learn some bigger tricks off of bigger jumps (some flips are good to have under your belt)

and Enter Comps!

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

hahaha...go to comps and if ur killing everybody else and ur poor and need some free gear then go for it. I was all into getting sponsored last year but its stupid...you gotta be able to show up any other kid on ur hill that's not sponsored. Well, u gotta be a lot better then THAT too actually... don't even think about it. its stupid.

well you havta be very hard workin, and it doesnt matter the tricks you can do, its HOW you do the tricks.

its not where u ride, its how hard you ride it!

HOW you do the tricks is important, but if the most technical trick you can throw is a 360 (even if you can throw it with alot of style) I doubt it is going to get you much recognition,

this is why I feel it is important to know some bigger tricks, but HOW you throw them is very important.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

you dinks are all wrong. it's not about how good you are, it's about who you know.

but more seriously, when you are ready you know it. when you watch ski videos and you know that you are better then 70% of the talent, you are ready. it's not just about talent, it's also about marketability and recognition. current pros are already established names, for you to get sponsored means that you have to be able to convince a company that you are a better investment then their current riders. you don't have to be good enough, you must to be better.

you also have to prove that you will gain exposure for the company. so what if you're sick, if nobody know who you are, how are you going to help the company? ski companies are mostly euro controlled rich bitch nit pickers who don't give a fuck about you or freeskiing. you have to be able to improve their bottom line. this means you have to have exposure in videos, magazines, and competitions.

quite frankly, when it comes right down to it, by the time you're ready to get sponsored, they'll probably be already knocking on your door.

its not who you know, its who you blow

when you watch a ski movie and you say I can do that after every trick. Thats when youre good enough to be sponsored.

My girlfriend told me to shove my skis up my ass

while it's true you hafta be a damn good skier to get a sponsor or two, it's more then just skiing. you gotta prove to these companies that you can go out and rep their shit, making all the other little skier kiddies be like 'oh wow, that kids so cool, not only can he stomp misty's he can also pimp hoes like Shaft. It must be the jacket he's wearing' and then all the little impressionable youths out there go and buy the shit, making the company happy. so its ski skill AND personality....not just one or the other

Don't worry 'bout a thing because your path is true, just ease your mind have a bananna or two

Shibby!
