SPK vs. Krypton

My old ten eighty's have finally become unbearable to use. Each turn feels like there are demons in my boot shanking my ankle, i need new ski boots soon. So i have narrowed my desired boots to either the SPK or Krypton. I am a Jackson Hole skier mainly focused on park but obviously skis alot of the back country and the gnarly stuff Jackson's known for. Help me out newschoolers. Whats your opinion? SPK or Kyrpton?

i have SPK's and love them!!! i do mostly park but freeride a good amount also! there amazing boots and all my friends who own them love them also!! jsut one thing if u get the spk pro's, this year they put leather on them.. and the leather cracks and gets ugly because of the cold after a while.. so if i were you id get the black and white spk's

try them, both. and find a boot that fits you. one boot could be great for someone else but horriable for you.

honestly, i think im ight be the only kid on ns to hate SPKs. MY buddy is a dumbass and threw the wrong boots in his car the other day so I had to rock the blue SPKs , ya they looked cool but the stance and stiffness threw me off soo much , compared to my agents (best jibbing boots ever) it felt like wearing high-top dunks compared to sb dunk lows... im sure i would get used to them the same after a couple days of riding but i dont like how they limit your natural set/pop, sizzoring everything was way different

Don't those two boots have completely different fits. I was under the impression that the SPK fits fairly wide (boot fitter told me its the widest boot hes fitted recently) and the Krypton is fairly narrow. Just go to a boot fitter and see what fits your foot best. I went into the boot fitter not knowing what I wanted and it turns out that I have a pretty narrow foot(which I didn't know prior to this) and that Full Tilt Bumblebee Pros were a good fit for me even though I hadn't even looked at them before I got fitted, so just go to the boot fitter and see what they say

Get what fits. I guarantee that at least one of those will NOT fit you. Like everyone has already said, go to a boot fitter.

Incidentally, SPK's fit me very well. I got the original ones last year and love them.

I just got out of my old teneightys and into a pair of kryptons, i was deciding between that or the spk and the kryptons just fit my foot soo well so go to a bootfitter and find out for yourself, but i loooooove the rampage

From one jhole shredder to another, don't get the spk's. I've got some kyrpton pros and spks and the spk's just aren't gonna cut it for other shit around the mountain. They let you forefoot wiggle way too much, which is good for confort and in a groomed park its no biggie, but when you get in the shit your not gonna have as much control as you'd probably like. See if the kyrpton fits you, it probably will, i've got a super wide foot and it still fits fine. Nice and snug. If you have to get an spk, go a size smaller, or get the foil boot with 4 buckles. Spk's= not really a good all mountain boot, and if you say it is, you're not skiing what this kid's skiing.

Dude you definitly need to get fitted.

Fuck the brand or model you want- that does no good if your feet dont fit them.

Find a reputable shop near you where you can trust the guys and know they will be honest with you.
