Alaska, BC, Washington, Oregon, California and West Coast Mexico (we can clean it up abit) would equal best country in the world. Heck we even go abit east and take alberta and colorado too

California has a huge economy, mix that with BC and Alaskas resources and we are set. Not to mention we would cut off the eastern states trade routes to Asia, which would suck for you guys but we would make money there. Let's include Alberta for sure then, need that oil!
Next we can build a bullet train from mammoth to whistler, with stops at all the good hills.

and how do you propose cutting off the eastern states trade routes? What, do you think everyone on the east coast just walks to california and personally places their items on ships there and takes home what they need? Pretty sure most of it comes in directly to the east coast via ship or plane. And if you start sinking ships and shooting down planes, you're gonna piss off a lot more people than the east coast. Oh, and not to mention that the majority of the country's military bases are on the east coast.

but otherwise i'm all for it.
 
California>all other states. Despite the economic problems, most people that come here never want to leave. Same with the people that are born here, like myself. The only other state I would consider moving to would be Colorado, which is why Colorado is on the list!
 
thats the government (thanks to arnold). we are talking about our crops and what farmers here make and how our produce dominates the industry.
 
FINALLY! Someone else who knows that California is a major world force. Hahaha, last time I told NS about how important ag. was, they told me they did not give a fuck where their fruit came from. hahahaha. That would be the most badass country though. AK has its oil, CA has film, tech, and ag. At that point our economy would most likely be stronger than the U.S. without us. California alone is the U.S.'s largest economy. Fuck that would be such an awesome country.
 
When were UCLA or Stanford bad schools? Who says we would not build new better schools when it separates?
 
Honestly California should just succede by itself, and we're taking hawaii of course. AK would be nice but too hard to defend so sorry guys. Unless we made a treaty with Canada, then AK is in.
 
i played bass in middle school jazz band with a girl who goes there, my neighbor goes there, and my sister goes there. on a side note, i saw a show about bearcats on the discovery channel last night.
 
Yeah and to be honest if we were to secede on our own, we could be equally, if not stronger than the United States. If we took Hawaii with us we would be quite strong. Hawaii is a major tourist destination, California has the farming, technology, and film. We would be stronger. Part of the reason CA al most went bankrupt, was due to the federal government. Reason being, allowing so many illegal immigrants in, forcing us to pay their medical bills, more jails, and welfare. There is that goddamn rule that you can come into the country, have a baby, and the baby is a citizen, then the parents get welfare and the child gets an education for free. Thanks for securing the border and letting all these guys have a great time in America federal government. They should be treated as we would be treated going to their country, but once we try to change something they cry and call racism.

basically a pipe dream about a nation or separate tading region on the west coast.

As much as I would love to have CO join the wicked party... Its kinda far. Utah doesn't even make the cut....

i mean...6 of the top 25 are in massachusetts alone.

now that i think of it, why would the schools matter? would these two countries be so hostile that traveling abroad to go to school would be impossible?!
 
aside from all the my sides gonna be better than yours bullshit it makes sense at least for the U.S. the two coasts are completely different lifestyles. And the center, well that's meth country
 
haha. word. new england has 10 of the top 25 (6 in mass, 2 in maine,

and 1 in ct and vt). the north east has 16 (10 in new england, 3 in ny,

2 in pa, and 1 in nj). now lets count how many the west coast has. it

wont take long because there are only 3 (2 in ca and 1 in wa). if the

boswash (coastal area from richmond, va to portland, me) were a

country, it would be the fourth richest country in the world behind

japan, china, and germany.

you know, I think this is a great Idea because when the ocean swallows california the rest of us won't be effected. and besides I dont know how to plan on "spitting" north america the other way.
 
guys, washington DC, new york, boston, philidelphia, and the entire connection to the white world over in europe is on the east coast. why are you arguing about this. our military infrastructure exists on the east coast along with a majority of bases. ever heard of the fucking pentagon? you west coasters are retarded just because you have cool mountains doesn't mean you can be all high and mighty about it. and alaska's resources, have fun trying to trade oil that will run out in 10 years and salmon for good staple crops. take the west coast you fuckin clowns, i'll keep everything east of the mississippi, including detroit chicago, every great lake, all the shipping ports along the gulf, FLORIDA, all the car manufacturers and basically any place that makes shit in the midwest, all the crops of the mid west, all the colleges on the east. this is such a dumb argument.
 
Personally I disagree with his statements about illegal immigration but if California decided to be its own country one day we would probably have a stronger economy than Old America. Basically the rest of America has nothing to offer, except wheat and corn. We would be pretty fucked without wheat and corn though.

Plus with illegal immigrants we basically have a slave labor system going and thats got to take some strain off.
 
Sorry Montana, there isn't much you can offer us. Maybe we'll talk if the Canadian treaty doesn't come through, without AK we might need somewhere epic to ski. You guys have some pretty cool lakes but we already have lots of those.
