Spirit Mountain's 2nd annual fall rail jam will be held Saturday October 24th followed by a movie premiere featuring Level 1's film Small World and a season edit from all over Minnesota made by Ben Morine. As of now the times are 3pm for the jam and 6pm for the premiere, but times are not set in stone quite yet. The cost is $10 for each and all proceeds go to benefit Team Duluth Freestyle, the local freestyle team in Duluth.

Rail Jam, 3pm, $10

Small world and local edit, 6pm, $10

Saturday, October 24th

Spirit Mountain, Duluth

I hope to see everyone out there! More info will be posted in this thread as it becomes available.

Totally going to be there! It would be tight to have a setup like troll's with more than one drop in so people could get more hits and beginners wouldn't have to hit something gnarly. I'm stoked!

I would consider having the premiere for free. I think most skiers would be much more likely to go if they didn't have to drop any money to see it. Just my thoughts.

(Correction)

Since it was $10 and I have it anyways.

DON'T LET THEM SEE YOUR COPY UNLESS THEY GO!!!

But for real, tell them to support the community! People complain about there not being ski events and premieres like there used to be in MN, but when someone puts one on, they complain about them costing money. It costs money to get space, equipment, and rights to these movies. So hell, pay $10 and go hang out with your friends! Funds go back to Level 1 or Duluth Freestyle and that doesn't suck either.

(John this isn't a stab at you, it's a stab at yo friends)

It's just that level 1's movie dropped awhile ago. I'd be down to pay $20 to see Sammy C project, for lack of better, boolers ball (again), and others that I'm probably forgetting. But they probably aren't interested anyways because they hate level 1's style. But I love watching skiing on a big screen and I just got paid so I'll be there! And Jack you're a loonie.

This, and people are already paying $10 for the rail jam. Last year the jam was $5, so I'm sure the new increased cost could help cover whatever fees are associated with showing the film. End of the day, it is not my decision, however I do feel many more people would show up to it if it was a free event.

I wish everything was free. But, unfortunately it's not. We are looking to simply cover the cost of bringing Small World to Duluth and whatever is left over will go to Team Duluth Freestyle, not someone's pocket.

Full disclosure, I am the Head Coach for Team Duluth Freestyle. I know how much stoke this sport has brought to my life and everyone I meet on the hill. Our team has passed this stoke to many more in the Midwest.

John I thought it was hilarious that you cussed at Level 1 for making such a good movie but being so far away from the season. The can be a crazy day of an excellent railjam followed by an excellent movie. So, get your buddies excited!

One change that has been made is that the Premiere has new pricing:

$10 for general public

$5 for railjam participants

Hope to see everyone there!

I honestly can't wait, it's been on my mind for the past two weeks. I don't really even care what the setup is, just the thought of being back on snow for 2 hours gets me going! In addition to the level 1 movie I request Cam Boll's 2-year street project "Seconds" which drops online for free on the 20th, just because that's going to be unreal.

It's time to start the countdown!

Definitely pumped for the ThrowDown....park crew has started hauling "snow" these past couple days and will continue all of next week, too. Stay tuned to NS as well as over on www.spiritmt.com and we'll be posting pics & updates as we roll along. Special shout out to Team Duluth, Ski Hut, Damage, Continental and RockStar for the support to make this happen again in 2016!

Nooo :(

Also only 3 days left! Getting more than a little antsy... luckily I have a stupid amount of homework this week to distract me and keep the thoughts of skiing from tantalizing me.

Forgot to give a huge thanks to everyone responsible for making this happen! Riding this early in the season is a gift few get to experience. Keep up the good work.

After seeing a leak of the setup, I'm pretty content with paying $10. I'm shaking from stoke, should I see a doctor?

Thanks for a great time! Bummed I couldn't make the premier, had to give my friends a ride home. Rail jam was an absolute blast!
