Speeding ticket

im 16 and just got my first one and right now i feel like shit. theres 2 ways, i can deal with it-go to court or send in the plea. if i send the plea in by mail would my parents have to find out cause i really don't know if i want to tell them.

any help would be appreciated
 
eiyther way theyre bound to find out. i mean if you were 18 it would be a different story, but youre 16 and under legal custoday by them so im sure theyll find out sooner or later.
 
yeah dude they are going to find out cuz either way if your plea doesn't work your insurance is going to go up... and if u go to court your parents will def find out then
 
See if you can get a deferral. I got a ticket for going 93 a couple years ago and I did that. All you have to do is go to a 4 hour class and you keep a clean driving record and your insurance company never finds out about it.
 
send it in and get some points knocked off... i bet your parents wont care too much, as long as it wasnt a huge ticket. just tell them he clocked you where it changed or something and you didnt have a chance to slow down
 
belive me a speeding ticket aint shit. i have to go to court on the first for careless driving , expired plates and evading the police. im fucked. i got a ticket for 87 in a 55 in june and i was scared as hell but it got knocked down to defective vehicle charge and a 50 dollar fine. it was nothing.
 
Just a speeding ticket, chances are your parents have had one too...

aslong as it wasn't like completely excessive speeds and careless driving im sure they won't make too big of a deal about it.

Did you admit to the officer that you were speeding? If he asked you how fast you thought you were going and you said any speed above the speed limit you are fucked. When I was asked I acted stupid and said "I'm sorry I don't know".

I have a court date on the 8th for 97 in a 65, I plead not guilty because I fucking work for my money and if they want it they're going to have to work for it too. That fucking officer better have done everything picture perfect as far as calibration and what not, I could give a fuck if I was speeding or not. Also my right to a speedy trial was denied as well since my original date was postponed so my new ones is beyond the 45 day limit. At the beginning of the trial I'm going to motion for a dismissal based on these rights and if not I'm going to appeal. No fucking way I'm paying a 400 dollar fine plus the added cost in insurance. It could total around $1500, fuck the legal system and fuck the police.

someone needs to post that video that was in an older thread. it was like 45 minutes long and it told you how to act when a policeman pulled you over.

it explained all the ways to maintain your rights.

pretty useful actually.
 
now you gotta pay up, you weren't speeding in excess of 25 miles though so you should be able to do traffic school so at least you won't have to pay added insurance premium. best of luck, speeding tickets are bullshit.
