coming home from VT in Mass i got lasered goin 86 in a 65.....$210...

this is my second ticket that ive gotten in Mass....and im from ct

my question is, is there anyway i can get around this bitch without my parents finding out?

is there any thing different cause im from another state?

i've heard insurance wont find out if no points are involved, and ct doesnt have a point system?

any advice besides 'slow down' would be much appreciated

mass cops are shitty for sure, at least start paying attention where they like to sit. You know there'll probably be one near the vt mass line, and then isn't there a station over near greenfield/deerfield? anyways just pay attention a bit more to tail lights, on coming traffic flash warnings (give those too), and just be smart around turns at the bottom of hills/at the top of a hill.

hahah one of my friend got caught goign 75 in a 45...but since the cop new his mom he only got 2 pts. and an 84 fine...but my other friend was going 53 in a 35 and he got his license cut...hes goin to court tho so hopefully the cop wont show up...dont slow down just be more careful or get a fuzz buster

Man up, pay the ticket. There's nothing you can really do to get out of a speeding ticket.

Don't be a little bitch and hide it from your parents either.

By the way, it WILL add points to your license.

I'm not trying to come off as a dick. I feel your pain. Tickets suck.

I have 4 speeding tickets... I'm kind of crazy when it comes to driving cars. Haha.

Let's just say that I like to find out how fast they can go.. ;)

Good luck bro.

I got busted doing 104 in a 65 and I think the fine was like $115.

But that was my very first speeding ticket.

my friend just got one doing 91 in a 50. 9 miles away from being arrested on the spot. the ticket was $410. I dont think anyone is going to beat that.

well you are about to get beat

my cousin got 104 in a 45 wasn't by a cop but one of those camera things in AZ...$600 and something ticket. idk how he did it i've been on the road and it's fucking tight as hell. i guess with an STi though haha...

as for driving advice, don't go over 85. one cop told me as he gave me a ticket that he has to pull people over going over 85. i stay at 80 after getting two tickets totaling $500.

both times i told my mom, i got letters in the mail even though i paid them on time. something like warning me if i get another one i'll get in trouble. one was in vermont (got 2 points off my license for a 87 in a 65, $200). the other i got in connecticut, 95 in a 65 (he dropped it down to 85 so i didn't have to go to court, but it was still $287). the one in CT i got the letter from saying if i got another in CT i'd lose my license and have to go to classes for like 6 months. i'm not sure the deal in mass though.

send in $211 dollars. they will send you a check for $1. as long as you dont cash the check your case will not be closed and your insurance will not be notified.

i did the same thing cop comes up to me
Cop: u know how fast you were going son?
me: no....um well you see my speedometer only goes to eighty five....
Cop: (after about i minute pause) that just might of been the stupidest thing i have ever heard

in court he dropped it down to ten over because he said i made him laugh

hahah shit. if your pulled over going double the speed limit the cop has to arrest you on the spot. good thing he was caught by a camera i guess.

he never got arrested, or license revoked. but now he is facing jail time cause he got pulled over speeding again on prescription drugs (which he was prescribed) and you can't drive with them. then once on probation he wrecked his car and no one knows if he was still on the pills till he gets tested...so he is probably fucked. he had a chance at going pro in CO too...sucks

pay the ticket online, points on your license dont usually traansfer over state lines so your insurance shouldnt go up, and if it does just take a point reduction class. im kinda in the same boat as you

wow the basically the same thing happend to me but different places.

except i got a warning previoulsy for getting air in my car...

I didn't read the whole thread so I'm not sure if someone has brought this up yet...

Ok, just pay them 2 dollars more than the ticket is for. Apparently if you do that their computer won't register it and the ticket will be tossed. I don't want to get into the nitty gritty of it but use the searchbar, somebody wrote up a detailed thread about this once.

I'm to lazy to get my liceanse(can't spell)

Can someone post the original thread about putting more money in and it not registering?

That would be awesome...

my dad who grew up in missoula, said if you got pulled over for drunkdriving or a going super fast (before they had speed limits) you gave the cop a 20 and were good to go. haha, what a wonderful state.

Truth. I got the exact same ticket as you (thread creator) in Minnesota--86 in a 65. It sucks dude. I dunno about other states' laws but in Minnesota, anything beyond 20 mph over the speed limit is considered "excessive speeding" and therefore automatically goes on your driving record and is reported to your insurance. My best advice is to go to court. Thats what I always tell people who get speeding tickets to do. If you've never been to court for a speeding ticket before, its nothing like you expect. More than likely, you'll sit in a waiting room with a bunch of other people who got speeding tickets until your name is called by an attorney that works for the county or state depending on who pulled you over. In my case, since it was 20 mph+ over the speed limit, they told me that I couldn't get it removed from my record, but the $220 ticket was reduced to something like $140 and they made it so that my driving record shows 15 mph over instead of 21. Even if you can't get the ticket cleared, spending an hour and a half and attending your court date will save you a shitload of money, and its completely worth it. And like this guy said^ in the future, if you're going to speed, a good rule is to stay below 20 mph over the speed limit. As for keeping it from your parents... it depends. You can try to get it off your record and then if it gets cleared you don't have to say anything. If it doesn't then you can wait until then to tell them. Good luck dude.

Damn man I'd say pay up and consider yourself lucky.

My first and only ticket was back when I was 19, I got pulled for doing 83 in a 65... but in Virginia(where I was pulled over) anything over 80 is considered reckless driving. I didn't get a ticket, I got a court date. My parents freaked because the maximum penalties for reckless driving in VA included a suspended license and possible jail time (I really doubt that would have happened for my first ticket) on top of whatever fine and points the court decided on. So they made me hire an attorney ($1000) and I got off with a $120 speeding ticket, no points and $75 in court fees. So for going 18mph over the speed limit it cost me $1195. I think hiring the lawyer was BS but I've been staying close to the speed limit ever since.
